Does vetblr count? I made a peach cobbler the other night during clinics stress mania
Hell yeah! Post a picture, we’re all stress-baking for similar reasons!

The goal: complete first ultramarathon in February
The method: crush a half next week. Run. Run in the heat, in the rain, in the cold. Run roads and on trails. Trip on roots and fly over rocks. Run until I can’t run another mile. Then run some more.
The complications: concurrently being a full time vet student about to start clinical rotations
The outcome: unknown
AthHalf
The AthHalf was yesterday, and man was it such a fun race! I set a secret, really lofty goal of averaging somewhere in the 7′s for the race but I was pretty sure I’d not be able to accomplish anywhere close to it. Surprise, I finished with an average of 7:54/mile and a total time of 1:43! This was a PR by over 10 minutes for the Half.
The time aside, it was just a stellar experience. The weather was perfect, there were just enough aggressive hills to make you really work for it, and The Boy running it with me was a game changer. I really felt my legs working for me and the miles glided by.
While I’m still SUPER scared to dive into Ultra distance, I feel more like my training is paying off and that it will be possible to be ready by February. Running has my heart and I can’t wait to keep pushing.
Run Journal 10/15/18
Distance/Pace: 3 for 7:51 average
Company: Ronan (who was REALLY good today; this is 14 miles in 3 days for him, which is a doggie best)
Legs felt really dead and unresponsive at the beginning of this run, but it turned out surprisingly quick for an easy 3. Looking forward to this lower mileage week before the half on Sunday.
This is my Ronan. He needed someone to give him a chance and show him that life can be sweet and people are not the enemy. Like his namesake, he is an asshole with a heart of gold.
