Stranger things 3 spoilers

I binged the entire season with my friend and it was around four am when we finished. To put it simply we were sobbing. When we watched the post credits scene we thought the American was hopper (well my friend did I think he is straight up dead) and had some hope. A couple days later my brother finished it and he told me his theory. Hopper IS dead. The American is doctor Brenner (elevens dad). If you think about it it makes a lot of sense. First of all they confirmed that he is in fact alive both in and out of the show. Second how would the Russians know about the upside down of anything to do with it if nobody outside of Hawkins knew. Hell not even most of the people in Hawkins knew. The American government did a pretty damn good job covering it up. How would they know how to open it and where they needed to? Anyway that’s what I think. This season was by far my favorite. RIP hopper you will be missed.
