I've been wanting to draw this for a while. Most of the gatherings I've been to or hosted lately (where I actually get to, however briefly, see and talk to my fellow mom friends as we pass babies around and clean-up barf) at least one woman begins to cry. AT LEAST. Usually it's three, and we take turns. Everyone is in this constant flux of gratitude, guilt, exhaustion and surrender. Everyone is trying their best and feeling that are just falling short. All of us moms doing it so differently from each other, and all of us succeeding and failing in our own ways. Ever since I had my first baby I can sob at the sound of a strategic chord change, and I could kill a suspicious stranger with my bare hands. Tremendous, peculiar energy.
