POST: A FIGHT FOR MY ATTENTION This is what my alarm says on my phone. Last week I was off-schedule prepping for my oldest to leave for college and I wandered from His presence and my quiet time. Why do I neglect Him when I need Him most? 😢 No matter. His grace enveloped me and I know how to find my way back to Him. My times of wandering away from Him have grown shorter and shorter as I have followed harder and harder. I'm human. Fallen. Broken. Distracted. Forgetful. But I belong to Absolute Power and Holiness. THOUGH I DO NOT DESERVE IT Jesus is constantly fighting for my attention. He is the utmost, absolute reality and my trifling heart still sometimes struggles to focus on Him. I am embarrassed to confess that Jesus must win it back over & over... but that is the truth of where I find myself sometimes. That alarm clock note IS MY ATTEMPT TO JOIN MY GREAT SAVIOR IN THE FIGHT FOR MY ATTENTION. When I, bleary-eyed, see those words in the wee hours I am reminded of what I really need. And it ain't sleep. It is the One Who Is Life Itself; the One Who Makes Days; the One Who Grants Breath. Last morning post. When I'm having trouble memorizing a verse (like this one) I use a memory trick to get it in. This one is FBAWY- fat babies always wear yellow. I bold the key letters, recall FBAWY as I say the verse at least 100 times today. (FOR I am the least of the apostles.... BUT whatever I am now, etc.). Hi loves! Several folks have asked me where I get my planner from. erincondren.com is the site. BUYER BEWARE: they ain't cheap. I started out years ago with a regular month-at-a-glance planner which doesn't have all the bells and whistles of an #eclifeplanner but still worked just fine. So if you need to start small that's fine. Also, the #erincondrenlifeplanner is blank, which can actually be a little overwhelming at first if you're not sure how to use it. I've tried several ways that work for me that I'm happy to share. Some #plannertips : 1. Make sure you're not so obsessed with your planner and planning that it actually works against you and keeps you from getting things done! Limit your planning time, be efficient and remember YOUR PLANNER WORKS FOR YOU, YOU DONT WORK FOR YOUR PLANNER. 2. Look at your planner every morning and every evening. 3. Take your planner with you wherever you go. * Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions!
