Boys in Love as realistic HS BL?

Kim-Mon - I think there's been some criticism of the show in how it handles Kim and Mon since Mon is put upon throughout, by both his mom and Kim. The show seems to take everyone's side except Mon's. And then Mon has to be OK with whatever has happened to him. But I think this is pretty realistic for a High School kid.

Sure, Mon's mom sucks, and he lets her win and smiles. And Kim is an idiot, so young and inexperienced and full of anxiety in his first relationship, not being a good boyfriend at all. And Mon smiles and makes him feel good. Even Kim's biphobia part feels realistic, if not good.

Mon uses his smile to get past everything that is put on him. He will mature and someday get himself a fain secure in their relationship, but Kim is still in HS. So I think they are not HEA. Kim will grow and Mon will learn he deserves a better fain. They will move on. And this is good! Realistic, even.

Kit-Shane on the other hand is very BL because they are clearly endgame here, soooo great together. Shane is so lucky to have someone like Kit who is preternaturally attuned to his boyfriend's needs even when Shane is oblivious to his own needs.

Kit and Shane are (dare I say it) like my relationship - the pairing of autistic and ADHD together is really well done, but they are so young. Kit is an amazing boyfriend for Shane and he is so lucky to have this so young. For me this all happened 10 years older. So I feel like this is less realistic for HS, more BL, and I love to see it! It makes me very happy.
