BIOGRAPHY
he is just another kid left to the orphanage, another boy who doesn’t know his parents or where he’s from. the battle begins early in life, foster families never stick around, friendships always get cut short. jove grows a thick skin until he meets her — a young girl with a wide smile on her face, one that looks up to him with wide eyes, uttering words he knows he’ll never forget; the stars told me i'm to find you, brother.
family begins then, with alyssa. he’s hit with a strong urge to protect, make sure nothing bad happens to his sister. if there’s anything he can do for her, he doesn’t bat an eye, not wanting her to be subjected to the cruelties of life, not if he can help it.
he first realizes his skills when he finds a battered deck of tarot cards, frayed around the edges, some of them missing. the moment he touches them, he can feel the energy flowing through them, can feel the gaps of those cards that are gone. he uses placeholders as he studies the arcanae at nights, feeling more than what meets the eye.
magic runs through his veins, and they begin performing on the streets when they can. jove tries to put a few coins in their pocket by performing street acts, reading fortunes, slowly gaining experience. he’s much too young to be taken seriously at first, people either ignore him completely or think he is a beggar — it takes a while until he can actually show his magic. alyssa is by his side, and they become a two person act at times, trying to get on their own feet.
it’s one of those days that they get recognized by someone from the palace- someone who realizes jove’s magic at first, how there is truth behind his fortunes, how much he can learn by looking at a battered deck of cards. when he gets invited to a new life- he drags his feet and asks his sister to be allowed with him too — and just like that, they begin a new life, something completely unexpected.
he’s grateful- feels as if everything is too good to be true. it’s surprising how quickly life turns around- something jove hadn’t believed in when the cards spoke to him. years pass by, the woman looks to them with kindness as jove hones his magic and gains more experience. alyssa becomes the lady in waiting while jove reads fortunes, cards filled with magic.
it’s no secret that the magic has begun to flicker away, something off about how people use their talents. when the talk of a summit reaches his ears, the fact that zodarc should showcase its talents, he volunteers to be part of it. magic has been an integral part of jove’s life- and he wants to do everything he can do to help others, to protect them and the magic that runs through their veins.
