The family businesses and dynasties in politics must end in Africa and many parts of the world- if you are worthy allow the people to choose you to lead them. Unfortunately local and international media have barely reported on what is happening in Togo. The #AU, #ECOWAS #UN and the rest of the world always wait for things to escalate out of control before acknowledging there is a problem and then we scramble for solution after too many lives have been lost. We are seeing the effects of local and global complacency in South Sudan, in Syria, in Yemen, in Papua New Guinea, and in Myanmar where Aung San Suu Kyi who was once politically exiled and became a Nobel Prize winner, yet remains far too silent with too many excuses as the Rohingya people experience a modern day genocide under her watch. True Democracies are about having choices and freedom to choose the best for the nation by all of the nations citizens.
