Need to get away from all noise from the CITY!  We live in the Bay Area, and we love to travel to Carmel/Monterey area at least 2-3 a year! It is only a 2-hour drive from Oakland/SF area which makes it a wonderful mini vacation. We like to go during the week (not so busy) BUT of course, the weekend works too!

LAST VISIT: 12/14/2010    http://www.yelp.com/biz/reds-donuts-monterey In all honesty, Red's Donuts are my favorite doughnuts in the whole-wide-world. This Monterey, CA, Mom&Pop chain produces the best deep-fat-fried balls of dough! The best item is their cinnamon roll doughnut (pictured to the left) - it is sweet, gooey and cinnamoney delicious. I have eaten at this establishment since I was a wee tot. My Grandpa used to play "hookie" and treat me to a morning of Red's with milk. What little girl wouldn't love a morning of sweetness with her "Grampy"?!?! Go to Red's when you are in the Monterey area - for breakfast or dessert, with your grandpa or without - these doughnuts will change your life!
