Happiness has become so hard to achieve, and even harder to maintain. I’ve seen that happiness continually escapes people because, first, we don’t understand exactly what will make us happy. We just don’t know ourselves well at all. Secondly, we search outside ourselves for happiness – in a job, a partner, a family, a title, a paycheck, a fancy house. As a result, happiness is constantly out of our control and a moving target that never stands still long enough for us to grasp. I’m not saying that these things don’t bring happiness, of course, they can.
