I think it’s so incredibly telling that men (and even some misogynistic women) keep saying over and over again that women in the iwc are bitches that need to relax if Alex is fine with being spoken about in that way. The critique is not coming from a place of prudishness, and everyone’s being so disingenuous by framing it like that. The critique isn’t even about speaking over Windsor - if she has that kind of relationship with him, that’s not my business! And it’s because it’s not my business that that kind of rhetoric, especially in our current political climate, shouldn’t be on a national stage, especially in a space where men already see women and queer folks as less than and are virulently transphobic, homophobic, and misogynistic both in-person and online. People need to move beyond the individual and start looking at what this all means in the time we are now. It doesn’t exist in a vaccum
