I've been thinking about Porco A LOT lately. This was written in like 20 minutes, please forgive any errors.
Porco spent a lot of time building up his walls. A damn fine job, if he had to say. Nobody getting in, nothing from him getting out. He was fine with people thinking he didn't have feelings, and for the longest time he believed he had tucked all of those sappy, "heartwarming", positive feelings away, content with never experiencing those again for as long as he lived.
So, the first time he saw you, it sent a massive shock to his sturdy walls. It shook him to his core, and he couldn't understand what was going on. He ignored it, thinking it didn't mean anything. But the first time you said his name, something happened. A piece of the wall crumbled. From then, every smile, every laugh, every gentle brush of your fingertips against his skin, everything you said and did tore down his wall bit by bit. He thought nothing of it, just thought you were another person that he tolerated a little more than the others.
Until one day, someone mentioned it to him.
"You seem...happy."
"Me, happy? Yeah, right."
"He's only happy when ______'s around," someone snickered.
Porco was quick to jump up and defend himself.
"She's more annoying than the rest of you."
"Still doesn't change the fact that your face lights up when she's around."
"Shut up!" He growled.
The feeling of anger was one he was all too familiar with. It was the immediate feeling of guilt for calling you annoying that was eating away at him. Confusion hit him hard. Why was he feeling like this? Why did you have to make him feel like no one else ever has?
"Porco? Are you okay?"
He snapped out of his head and panic set in. His whole body burned. Was he embarrassed? Irritated? Afraid? What could he possibly be afraid of? He's faced more fierce opponents in battle, and yet he felt nervous being in your presence.
"Hey." Your voice softly broke through once more. The last thing he was expecting was for you to embrace him, your head nestling gently against his chest. A deep sigh It was like you had just taken a sledgehammer to the last bit of wall.
"Whatever you're going through, you don't have to go through it alone. I'm here for you."
That was the finishing blow. He returned the embrace, and squeezed you tight. Maybe it was okay to let people in. Maybe it was okay to let people get to know him, the real him. Maybe it was okay to show others that he was happy. And maybe since you were the one to tear down what he'd built up, maybe you could be the one to help him build a solid foundation.
27."I can't take my eyes off you" with Asahi azumane (with him saying that to y/n)
Have fun! And thank you!
"I can't take my eyes off of you," Asahi whispered to himself. Why does that sound familiar? He pulled out his phone and quickly searched the phrase.
"What?" you asked. You were standing in the bathroom, finishing up in front of the mirror. Asahi was sitting on the bed and you were in his direct line of sight.
"What?" he repeated back, a hint of nervousness flashed across his face as he quickly tossed his phone on the bed.
"It sounded like you said something. I just didn't hear you." You smiled and he was sure that his heart was going to pound out of his chest.
"Oh, uh, I can't find my...black...shoe?"
"What do you need your black shoes for? You're already wearing the brown ones," you chuckled. "And between you and me, I think the brown ones go better with your outfit."
You giggled with delight, "It looks like your stylish expertise is rubbing off on me! Or," you paused and tried to look as though you were giving a serious thought, "you're just always handsome no matter what and anything you wear looks good on you."
His face was fully flushed. You always knew just what to say to make his heart flutter. He smiled. He opened his mouth to compliment you, but a voice on his phone sang over him.
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off of you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
He scrambled for the phone to turn it off. When he finally shut the music off, his shoved his phone in his pocket and turned away from you. You could tell that he was embarrassed.
"What was that?" you asked teasingly as you reach up to squeeze his shoulders.
"It was a song I looked up earlier," he said, trying to regain his composure.
You walked around in front of him. No matter how stern you tried to look, the love and joy in your eyes was exuberant. He laughed a little as his hands made their way to your waist. He ever so gently pulled you closer.
"I was wondering if there was something that could come close to describing how I feel about you, and wouldn't you know it? There's a song that comes pretty close." He lightly kissed your forehead. "I can't take my eyes off of you, ______. I'm glad you let me be the one to love you." He held you tight in his warm embrace.
"Asahi?"
"Hm?"
"You're just too good to be true. You're the only one for me, babe. I love you."
Omg okay here we go...for the writing prompt, HxH with Kastro + #12? ^^
Meve, thanks for the request! I hope you enjoy this (this is my first time writing for Kastro, I hope I did alright)
Word Count: 933
The arena erupted with thunderous cheers. You were right in the mix, cheering as loud as you could. Kastro had won his ninth match; one more and he would be a floor master. Everyone around you was buzzing with excitement. As people were making their way out of the arena, you made your way up to Kastro’s floor.
When you first started dating, you tried to go along with the crowd to see if you were able to say hi. But you quickly learned that was nearly impossible. People were asking for his autograph left and right. He quickly learned that if he wanted to see you, he would have to get you a special key that gave you access to his floor and room.
And so, most of the time you waited for him up on the 200th floor as he tried to fight his way through the crowd.
The elevator finally dinged, and you stood back out of sight.
“Excuse me? Could I get your autograph?” you said as you altered your voice as best as you could.
Kastro’s shoulders tensed. How did someone get up here? He thought to himself. Never one to let a fan down, he turned to you with a genuine smile.
“Of course, I can…oh, ______! It’s you!” he hugged you.
“How long have you been waiting up here?”
“Not too long,” you said.
He quirked an eyebrow and said nothing.
“Okay, it may have been closer to an hour and a half. But I don’t mind waiting,” you smiled.
“Has it really been that long? Well, that’s far too long for you to be waiting. Come on, we can have dinner after I get cleaned up.”
Dinner was delivered to the room shortly after and the two of you ate in silence with the occasional remark about a certain move he did in the match. You had both finished your plates when a thought occurred to you.
“Kastro?”
“Yes, my dear?”
“Do you think that we could spend the day together tomorrow? You’ve been working so hard and I think you deserve a day off.”
“Hm,” he sat a moment in his thoughts. “As much as I would love to, I still need to train. Now is not the time to ease up.”
“You’re right, I’m sorry for asking,” you nodded in agreement, a look of disappointment on your face. Kastro had been training hard and you felt like you rarely got to see him outside of having dinner together.
“Wait, hold on,” he got up and picked up his daily planner. You could hear him whispering “if I move this…” “that can go there…” “switch this…”. After a few minutes, he turned back to you.
“______, ask me your question again.”
“Can we spend tomorrow together?” you asked in confusion.
“What a coincidence. It seems that I have that down on my schedule already!” he smiled as he turned his planner toward you to show you his name and your name written on tomorrow’s date.
The rest of your evening was spent determining how the two of you would spend your time together. You were able to come to a compromise; the first part of the day would be spent at the aquarium where a new exhibit had just opened, and the second part of the day would be spent making dinner together and watching a movie on the couch.
The aquarium date was fun and lowkey. Kastro was worried that he might get bombarded with fans asking for pictures or autographs, but to his surprise only one or two people recognized him. “It’s the street clothes,” you suggested. “I almost didn’t even recognize you,” you teased.
As you finished up your aquarium adventure, you noticed a photobooth right outside of the gift shop entrance.
“Can we get our picture taken? Please, please, please, PLEASE?” you asked him as you tugged on his shirt sleeve and tried to give him your best puppy dog eyes.
He smiled down at you, “Fine, but just because you asked me to.”
Trying to get Kastro to make a silly face was a task, but you were able to get him to crack on the last photo. The booth printed out a ticket for you to take into the gift shop where they would print out the photos if you liked them.
All three photos were perfect to you. How could you not want all of them? You asked the clerk for all three and they told you to pick out some frames to put them in. Kastro helped you pick the frames; one had seashells on it, another had turtles on it, and the last was in the shape of a starfish and it read “you’re a star!”.
“Thanks for taking me to the aquarium. I’ve enjoyed the day with you,” you smiled as you leaned against his arm as the two of you left.
“The day’s not over yet, ______. We still have dinner and a movie,” he smiled back at you as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder.
“But really, it’s you I should be thanking. Your support and understanding has really helped me get to where I’m at now. You deserve this day of fun as much as I do, you know,” he paused for a brief moment.
“I’d do anything for you, ______. I love you.”
“And I love you,” a feeling of happiness washed over you.
Kastro trained hard to be the fighter he was, but you knew that he would fight just as hard to prove his love to you.
Warnings: cursing, little bit of angst, Daichi is a little bit of a jerk but for good reasons
Author's Note: @sakhimeansfriend requested this with the prompts "tell me about your childhood" and "tell me a secret". Thank you, @absolute-flaming-trash for beta reading this 😊
“Tag, you’re it!” a smack to the back of your head caused you to topple over, falling face first into the pavement.
“Hey! Dat wasn’t bery nice!” a boy yelled after the other kids who were running away laughing. He dropped down next to you and helped you sit up.
“Hey, kid. Are you hurted? Agh! You’re bleeding! Mommy!” He stood up quickly. “It’s okay, kid. ‘m gonna get some stuffs for you. I’ll be back,” he smiled as he softly patted your head.
Only after he trotted away did you start to cry. Your chin stung and your knee was scraped up.
“Okay, kid, ‘m back! Oh, don’t cry! I-It’s okay ta cry. It’s okay ta be sad. I cry when ‘m sad. Here, lemme help you wif dis,” he grabbed a wipe and gently wiped your chin and knee. He pulled out a handful of bandaids from his pocket.
“I didn’t know what you liked, so I grabbed a bunch. You can pick. I like dis one wif the flowers, but dis one wif the dinosaurs is cool, too!”
You pointed to one with dinosaurs and another with cats.
“Oh, I like cats too! Bof good choices, kid!”
He sat smiling at you and it made you feel so much better.
“I’m sorry dose kids made you cry. I would never make you cry. Friends aren’t sposed ta be mean ta friends. You wanna be friends, kid? I’m Asahi!” he said as he pointed to himself with the biggest smile on his face.
You sniffled a little as you nodded, “I’m ______.”
“______. Dats a nice name. You wanna be my friend, ______?”
“Yeah, Sahi. I wanna be your friend,” you smiled.
His face lit up even more as soon as you said that you wanted to be his friend.
“Yay! Let’s go to the swings!” he grabbed your hand and you both ran to the swing set.
“You can go first and I’ll push you. And then you can push me. You ready, ______?”
“Ready, Sahi!”
You weren’t sure why this memory was coming to you now, sitting in the hot sun while waiting for your name to be called to receive your diploma. Ever since that day when you were 5, Asahi was your best friend and you were his. You were inseparable. Maybe that’s what’s causing you to sweat more than the hot sun. The two of you would not be going to the same college, and that made this moment bittersweet.
“Psst, ______? You going to Suga’s party tonight?” Asahi leaned over and whispered to you.
“Only if you’re going, Sahi.”
“You wanna go with me? I can pick you up around 7.”
“I only live a block away from Suga, Asahi.”
“I know.”
Daichi, who was sitting behind you, leaned in and whispered in a stern voice, “hey you two, shut it. You’ll miss your name being called.”
Asahi snapped his attention back to the front of the podium, but you gave him a slight nudge with your elbow.
“7 sounds perfect.”
Asahi’s name was finally called and you smiled at him the entire time as he walked up to accept his diploma.
“So, when are you going to tell him?” Daichi leaned back in behind you.
“Tell him what?” you asked, as if you didn’t know what he was talking about.
“Don’t play dumb,” Daichi whispered, “It’s so obvious that you love him. You gonna tell him tonight?”
“Shhh, Daichi. You’ll miss your name being called,” you spouted back to him.
Asahi arrived back and sat down.
“Phew, I’m so glad I didn’t trip while I was up there.”
“You did great, goof.”
Daichi poked your back and you silently shooed his hand away while remaining facing to the front.
Asahi was at your door at 7 pm precisely. In truth, you had been ready since 6:15. Daichi’s words had been eating away at you since the ceremony and you were debating on whether you wanted to act on those words.
“Hey, ______. Oh wow, you look great!” Asahi rubbed the back of his neck.
“You’re looking pretty good yourself, bud.”
You both smiled at each other.
“Um, are you ready to go?” Asahi asked as he extended out his arm.
“Ready, Sahi!” you hooked your arm through his and walked down the sidewalk to Suga’s.
The walk over to Sugawara’s house started off silent. You didn’t know what to say. This could possibly be one of the last things you’d get to do with Asahi, and you were trying to savor it as much as you could.
“So,” Asahi started, “I saw Daichi talking to you when I went up to the stage. What was he saying?”
Your face grew hot as you were trying to think of something else to tell him.
“He was just….scolding me for distracting you like I always do.”
You reached the front steps of Suga’s house and Asahi stopped before you reached the front door.
He laughed, “that sounds just like Daichi. But, to be fair, I don’t mind when you distract me. You’re really fun to be around.”
“We’re best friends, of course you have to say that,” you laughed.
“Sahi, what’s up?”
“Hey, ______. I, uh, I’m wondering-”
Before he could finish, Sugawara swung open the door.
“Asahi! ______! It’s about time. C’mon, we’re about to play Truth or Dare,” Sugawara said as he grabbed your hand and pulled you through the living room where the volleyball team waited and other third years sat and chatted.
“Truth or Dare? We’re not children anymore, Sug-” you stopped as soon as you saw Dachi and you knew exactly what was going to happen.
“______! I have a spot for you right here,” Daichi patted the seat next to him.
You glared at him, but sat down next to him anyway.
“Was this your idea?”
“It sure was.”
“Daichi, please,” you silently pleaded.
“It’s now or never,” he whispered.
“Okay, Kiyoko! You can go first,” Suga shouted.
You sat nervously the whole time as everyone went around doing ridiculous dares and asking ridiculous questions. Everyone was laughing, and you tried to follow suit. But it was hard to laugh along when there was an unsettling feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Daichi had just finished completing his dare–Hinata dared him to order pizza for the party.
Daichi turned to you.
“______, truth or dare?”
You had been contemplating what you were going to choose since the beginning of the game. You swallowed hard before squeaking out, “Truth.”
A wicked smile spread across his face.
“Tell me a secret. Are you in love with Asahi?”
The heat rushed to your face and the words got caught in your throat.
“What?” you heard Asahi’s voice cut through the silence.
“I…uh…I…shit,” you ran out of the room and into the backyard.
“Daichi, what the fuck, dude?” Asahi questioned as he ran out after you.
You stood on the deck and looked up at the sunset. Daichi was right about it being now or never, but you had hoped it didn’t have to happen like this. Resting your elbows on the side of the deck, hiding your face in your hands, you let the tears roll down your cheeks. And then when you heard the door open and heard his voice, you tried to wipe away any trace of sadness.
“Hey, ______. What’s–what’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“Sahi, ‘m o-okay,” you sniffled, trying to hide your crying.
“Oh, no. You’re upset,” he said as he cupped your face in his hands. “Daichi’s question was out of line. I’m going to go say something.”
“No, please Sahi. ‘m okay. Just sad,” you grabbed his arm before he could go back inside.
“What’s got you so sad? We just graduated, we’ve got our whole lives ahead of us,” Asahi tried to sound reassuring.
“That’s it, though. We’ve got our whole lives ahead of us, but we’re going in separate directions. You’ve been my best friend since we were kids and now it’s like I’m losing an important part of who I am. I don’t want to lose you, Asahi. I-I love you. I’ve been in love with you for a while. But, I didn’t want to say anything in case you didn’t feel the same and it ruined our friendship. I just…don’t want to lose you,” you whimpered as the tears rolled down your face. You wiped your nose with the back of your hand and finally looked up at Asahi. Somewhere along the way, he started crying, too.
“A-Asahi?”
“I thought it was only me who felt this way,” he smiled as he looked down at you. “I’ve been dreading the day we would be separated, because you’re so important to me. I thought this was normal to feel like this with best friends. But I don’t feel like this with Daichi or Sugawara. I don’t even feel this with Noya. And I know it’s okay to feel sad, but this feeling of sadness I’ve been feeling is unlike anything I’ve felt before. And now I know why. It’s because I love you. I love with my whole heart and I’d never do anything to make you cry.”
You reached up to wipe the tears from his face.
“Friends aren’t supposed to make friends cry. I remember making that promise to you when we were kids, and I don’t plan on breaking that now,” he enveloped you in a hug and kissed the top of your head.
“Please, ______. Please be my best friend, still. We can make this work. We’re only one city away from each other. We can meet up on the weekends and I bet we can even meet for date nights on the occasional week day. I want to be your boyfriend,” he said as he squeezed you a little tighter.
“But only if you want me to be your boyfriend.”
You nodded your head into his chest before pulling away, “Yes, you big goof. I want you to be my boyfriend.”
“A-are we supposed to kiss now?”
“We might wait a little bit, it appears we have an audience,” you gesture toward the window to see the whole volleyball team standing there trying to get a peek at the two of you. Of course, Daichi is there in the front with his arms folded over his chest, a smirk resting on his face.
“I’m gonna kill him,” Asahi mumbled.
“Not if I kill him first,” you snorted back.
You both went back into the party with a newfound sense of hope. You weren’t going to lose your best friend, after all. Part of you didn’t know whether to thank Daichi or punch him. But all that mattered to you in the moment was that Asahi was yours, and you were his.
Hi friends. As much as it pains me to say it (but I'm sure it's been expected), I think I'm going to retire this blog. I just haven't had the motivation to write lately and I haven't come up with any original ideas.
I won't delete, because I'd still like to come back and see the things I've written (and I hope you do, too). And I might add a few things here and there. But for the most part, this blog will no longer be active. I'll still be active on my main blog @/we-are-so-close if you'd like to see more writing stuff there.
I really want to thank those of you who followed me and stuck around to read my work. I appreciate it more than you know! Every comment, reblog, tag meant the world to me!
