Rue sat on one of the branches of an evergreen tree in District Eleven. It was nearing afternoon but the sky was overcast, leaving the world below dark and gloomy. Rue wished that the sun would come out but it was Fall, meaning the sunshine would be scarce from now on. Unfortunately that made working in the orchards much harder. She sighed and leaned against the trunk of the tree, kicking her feet to and fro. While doing this,Rue noticed that one of her shoes was loose but she was simply too lazy to tie it on tighter.
A few minutes later, Rue noticed a human like figure moving down below her. She leaned forward slightly, trying to see if she would make it out as anyone that she knew but too many branches were blocking her view. "Huh," Rue mumbled to herself. She made a move to go lower on the tree but as she did that her shoe fell off and hurdled right toward the figure's head.
