For your viewing pleasure: Ahsoka and Obi-Wan in the animagus AU needing to hide from someone but they don’t have much room so they both go to shifted form and then nearly get caught cause Ahsoka got bored while waiting and started petting Obi-Wan, who in turn started purring so loud it almost gave their position away.

I just want y’all to know, that in the animagus AU: Rex riding around in Ahsoka’s arms like a rich lady with a spoiled puppy while she’s in her monkey form and he’s a bun. She pets his dumb naked little head and he loves it. Anakin is jealous that Rex is little enough to be carried. Someone plz snuggle his giant ass so he stops whining. One time Echo got tired of his whining and he swaddled him up in a giant blanket like he does to Fives when he’s being annoying and then just. Left him. Trapped. Poor puppy. Rex came by (human form) and cuddled him a bit before setting him free again. Echo is an ass but tbh??? Same.

Animagus AU again

Rex: *standing there with adolescent monkey Ahsoka on his shoulder, quietly grooming his non existent hair*

Anakin: *comes over and looks at everyone for a long moment* Why is Echo crying?

Echo: *feeding bat Fives some watermelon*

Fives: *wrapped up like a burrito in a soft bat blankie while monching and cronching his noms*

Rex: Have you SEEN Fives eat watermelon? It’s cute. I cry sometimes too.

Anakin: *goes over to watch Fives eat his noms* Oh... oh no... they’re right...

Anakin: *turns back to look at Ahsoka* Hey! Why aren’t you cute like that? I watched you shove an entire banana in your mouth this morning, that wasn’t cute! Be cute!

Ahsoka: *fake sadness, hiding her laughing little monkey face in Rex’s neck*

Rex, upon mistaking that for real sadness: *holding her little body close, very protective* First of all, how DARE you-

Speech Patterns

In the animagus AU, all the clones are taught from childhood to send thoughts because it’s a 99% likelihood that their general will be a Jedi and will communicate with them through thought while in their shifted forms.

Ahsoka is a monkey, so if she tries while in her shifted form, she could still talk like regular, which makes lots of other shifters jealous af because that’s so cool to be able to talk in both forms. She mostly uses her vocal cords to say cuss words tho cause she is young and has very instinctual impulses and ends up saying words that her masters would scold her for if she were tugruta.

Obi-Wan has always been a natural sender when it comes to thoughts. He can even send thoughts to people who absolutely cannot send back to him, because he has what the elders in the temple like to call Volume Issues™️. When he was still a kitten, Qui-Gon had to put him in speech therapy classes because all his words came out sorta Yoda Style in his shifted form, because it’s kinda harder to think properly while in that form. It was very cute, and Qui-Gon thought it was kinda funny, but he knew he needed to get Obi-Wan help with it because it could have become an issue later on. Cody Always knows what Obi-Wan needs. Don’t tell them, but they have a budding lifebond forming too, but they’re very shy about it.

Master’s Clee and Xanatos (yes, in case you haven’t read what I already have posted, Xanatos never fell in this AU) are both birds, a parrot and a crow respectively, so they can talk too, and it’s really interesting, but they mostly communicate with birdy noises. Xanatos likes making the weirdest noises he can think of when Obi-Wan is around, and watching the margay get all worked up about trying to imitate them. He thinks his little brother is hilarious. Master Clee does that too sometimes, but she doesn’t go out of her way to make the noises weird.

Dex doesn’t even need to listen to thoughts, he just Always Knows What Shifters Mean and Qui-Gon is about 99.99% sure that Dex is force sensitive too but he won’t admit it, he just always knows what a shifter needs. Or, he insists he knows what the shifter needs and it’ll end up being close enough that they accept it, lol.

Anakin is Very True To His Golden Retriever Heritage, and he pretty much projects just about everything he thinks, like the dog in Up. ‘Ball, tree, saw something small and weird go up the tree I should chase it, no! Master says no chasing small things! I could hurt them and we don’t know if it’s a shifter or not! Rex has on a new cologne today! It smells amazing! Let me lick it!’ But he’s surprisingly quiet and well behaved on stealth missions.

Padme knows how to communicate with all her handmaidens in her rabbit form, but most other people she’s sorta stuck with tugging on their robes and kicking them till they get what she needs their help with. Anakin and her have a lifebond though, and she’s glad to add him (and by association, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan) to her list of people she doesn’t need to physically bully to understand her. Bail also understands her perfectly, tho he insists he doesn’t have a lick of force sensitivity in him. No one believes that at all. He also always knows when Obi-Wan is nearby, but Padme thinks that’s just cause Obi-Wan and Bail hang out too much and she wonders if Just Friends can develop bonds like that too.

Qui-Gon is also a natural sender, but none of the volume issues Obi-Wan has, so he causes much less headaches. Well, in terms of shouting in your head. He and Obi-Wan are usually tied for who causes the most headaches for the council tbh. Now that Obi-Wan is on the council, he’s def in the lead.

The red panda triplets have such a low force sensitivity (JUST sensitive enough to have a shifted form at all) that they cannot send thoughts. Obi-Wan is slowly building a bond with them over the course of the war tho, so eventually they’ll be able to at least sense him a little.

Squeaky tries not to be noticed thanks. He gets nervous when anyone pays him too much attention and goes to hide behind Cody, because Cody is in charge of everything and everyone, and nothing can phase him. Cody, much like Obi-Wan, always seems to know what Squeaky needs. It’s usually to be ignored, but also, cuddled.

Fives isn’t good at Language™️ while shifted, but Echo claims he knows what Fives needs every time. They’re not sure if he’s right, or if Fives just doesn’t care much.

Whiskers is an adorable little shit, and if you put his thoughts through google translate more than twice, they all just translate to ‘mischief!! Mischief and mayhem and lots of ice cream!’ And that’s basically his whole personality. Plo loves his smol padawan.

Obi turns up to a council meeting with squeaky in a baby wrap tied to his chest napping

TBH??????? Yes???????? Thank you I’m crying that’s so precious??????? Everyone is all ‘Obi-Wan we can’t just let you-‘ but Mace just interrupts like ‘hey, quiet voices, don’t wake the baby’ and Obi is hella smug about it??? His baby is cute and sleeping and content in the force????? Don’t wake his baby?????

Lol, Squeaky tries to be An Adult and independent when he’s human, but instinct always takes over when he’s not, he immediately goes into clingy baby mode when he’s a raccoon. He can’t help it, he’s still got a few more years before he enters the adolescent stage in that form.

A second thought for y’all: Rex also does this with Ahsoka sometimes, but for her it’s less of being too young and needy (tho she is also adolescent rn) and more of her being lazy and Rex being one of her favorite people.

No one complains because it convinces Rex and Cody that they don’t need to wear their armor because it’s not nearly as comfortable to little bodies.
