Games shopping. Pic 1. Today: I picked up Volo’s Guide to Monsters (WotC, 5e) and Chessex dice (Borealis Royal Purple/gold and Gemini Astral Blue-White/red) from Weekend Warlords in Loughborough. I was hoping see the Mordenkainen book, but they had sold out of those. Just for a moment I thought I might already have owned the Volo’ book, which goes to show how neglected my 5e library is. :-/ Also, the RPG shelf is getting smaller in that store. They play a lot of skirmish games in there and have a world ranking x-wing team. I guess it’s difficult to cater for all tastes all the time, but I tell myself it’s important to support my local bricks'n'mortar FLGS. Maybe I need to be getting my name on product waiting lists. ____ Pic 2. UK Games Expo acquisitions: The Midderlands (Monkey Blood Design) - signed by the authors, sold on the Lamentations of the Flame Princess stall; Luca A. Volpino’s Dare the Stars! (White Star OSR roleplaying) -again through the author in person; and lastly FOSSIL (Fantasy Old School System Index Lite) B/X Character book by SquareHex - pretty much all the charts you need for a PC - in a convenient dimension. Reading between the lines, you’ll realise I didn’t stray far from my stall for most of the Expo (SquareHex and LotFP were neighbouring traders ;) )
