Nowadays, I’m starting to think people with the classic ‘Sumire pretending to be Kasumi doesn’t count as her personality because she was pretending to be someone else’ take coincide her imitation with a perfect portrayal of Kasumi Yoshizawa.
There will never be an accurate portrayal of Kasumi. We can see glimpses of her, and we can only reconstruct a reasonable picture of what she might’ve been like by following some character tropes, but nothing will give us the true Kasumi. Kasumi died before we ever got to know her, and before Sumire ever got to understand her. Sumire’s view of Kasumi is so warped we can’t depend on her as an objective witness of who Kasumi was.
So, Sumire’s imitation of Kasumi was never Kasumi to begin with. It was Sumire’s ideal made in her shape. Her preferences, views, and desires filtered through rose-tinted glasses. Only what she considered the best of the best. She’s still the one dancing, not Kasumi. An actor could try to become a blank state in order to embody a character, but you’ll still see their personality in every decision they make, from the traits they emphasize to the traits they suppress. Imitation is interpretation.
Sumire never ‘disappeared’. She was present from start to finish.

This form will be open until Saturday, March 21st at 11:59pm EDT. We will have separate readings for the sonnets and for individuals' favorite monologues.
Hey Shakespeeps! We know a lot of people are stuck inside, and all of us are worrying, so let’s get our minds off our plague with a guy who dealt with one of his own.
In the next couple of weeks we’re planning to do at least one reading each of all the sonnets, and of everyone’s favorite monologues. We’re setting this up very quickly so sign up now before it’s too late!
We’ve got a few more things planned as well, so stay tuned!
I just found out that crows and owls are natural enemies. Hear me out.
I've seen a dozen Chat Blanc scenarios, but not a single one with the Ladybug Miraculous.
I'm imagining an Earth that cannibalizes on itself as the Ladybug holder desperately tries to keep it going. Nothing is allowed to be destroyed. Nothing is allowed to die. The planet goes on and on, suffocating, and it suffers, immensely. The Ladybug acts as the planet's core, feeding on existing life and building on top of it, pushing it further and further, engulfing other planets within the Solar System. They spread like a cosmic parasite.
Essentially, the Cat holder is given only one solution: to put an end to a world, and possibly the Ladybug with it.
“Nathalie was being too harsh” this “Nathalie grabbed her” that. “Nathalie should’t tell a child to suck it up”. My goodness. It’s Nathalie. Nathalie “I will lose my last reason to keep going” Sancoeur. Nathalie “my last piece of the Agrestes will be gone if Adrien finds out the truth” Sancoeur. Nathalie “I have nothing else to live for” Sancoeur.
Nathalie Sancoeur, who wouldn’t have given children a speck of consideration before, and she still wouldn’t now. Adrien is a special case.
Anyway, if you didn’t think that was a Nathalie thing to do— skill issue. Because that was a very Nathalie thing of her to do in that moment, which is the point.
Goro should hate Yusuke more. Goro should look at someone who's poor and still financially irresponsible, who dedicates all his time to a passion that would rarely promise stable income, if at all, who relies on the help and kindness of others, and seethe seethe seethe
