Happy first day of MonoMay by @mhamonomaevents and Monoma's birthday!

I'm celebrating it the only way I know how, with stories about the best hero UA has to offer.

He got a statue on campus, people! A STATUE! A statue that shows his best side...

Pssst, it's all of them.

So, is it a new fic? A one-shot? I have been doing quite a few of those...

Oh no, my lovely readers... I'm updating.

After a hiatus that was far too long, I bring you the final chapter of my MonoShin fluff fic, Growing Season!

This story may be small at 4 chapters, but it's chock full of enough cute moments to make you feel like it's double that.

For MonoMay I used the prompt: Into the Woods

In the final chapter, we skip ahead in time to a train ride taking Monoma and Shinsou to their first day at UA High. They share smiles and laughter amidst the lingering disappointment Shinsou holds from not getting to enter the hero course with Monoma. All is not lost, however, as Monoma props up his favorite person and reminds him that his gift is one that should be heard.

I hope you enjoy the ending, and I can't wait to bring you even more fantastic stories throughout MonoMay.

A story about those that rise up against injustice, living their lives through separation, heartache, and secrets, but ultimately finding love and acceptance. That certainly sounds like somebody we know! What has Monoma been pulled away from in his life that he could find once more? Could he protect an unlikely soul, finding friendship or love in the process?

There are so many good revolutionary outfits you could put Monoma in! Let him lead others to rise up against oppression!

The Show Must Go On

When Monoma faces hardship, what does he do? Perseveres! Take a gamble and have Monoma be defeated, but in his loss, remind his foe that he has not truly been beaten when he can still breathe. What quirk could he pull out of his back pocket to get the drop on someone? Let Monoma win his favorite way, through slight of hand and misdirection!

Monoma classically is seen putting on a facade, so why not tell us why he does it. Who does Monoma see when he looks in the mirror? Does he truly feel he's achieving perfection, or are the cracks many and wide on the other side of the glass? What does he pretend, and who does he do it for? Who is one person he'd let see through it all?

Be More Chill

This play's premise is about swallowing a super computer that can help you be cool, but our next protagonist realizes it's aiming for world dominance, so he defeats it and gains the self-confidence he so eagerly sought. Did I hear identity struggles as Monoma worries about who he is because he's copying everyone else? Monoma fits flawlessly into any role of a socially ostracized teenager who desperately wants to be the best.

Why not have Monoma find a quirk that he thinks embodies "cool"? Maybe it changes his appearance, his voice, or has an intoxicating allure that draws people in.

Here are some iconic shots that you might stick Monoma in as an awkward teen with whoever you choose as his best friend, or as the embodiment of awesome:

Stage Fright

Imagine someone stumbling upon Monoma Neito actually getting anxiety about a fight against a villain. When Monoma runs up against a quirk he can't take, all alone, does he worry that he'll be enough? Quirkless Monoma with an empty quirk.

Or might Monoma be making a debut at an event that has him on edge? Is it someone who is there? Or someone who isn't? Could it simply be that he is worried about a small detail of the party that has him crashout?

Or maybe our illustrious Class B hype man is actually helping someone else who is suffering from a case of the worries. He always has your back, he just might push it center stage when you least expect it. Monoma knows best.

Monoma believes everyone should be their best, and he'll let them know exactly how they can accomplish that. Unfortunately, it's usually unfiltered, causing him to look like more of a nuisance than a support.

Day 3 - May 15th - Gentlemen Prefer Blondes - Show-mance - "I can be smart when it's important, but most men don't like it."

The play in question is about whether you should marry for money or looks or love. It's a silly comedy with the famous musical number "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" performed by the one and only Marilyn Monroe.

Monoma contemplating the value of quirks and the sort of person he would want to end up with, could be one route you take. You might also go blonde for blonde, and have Monoma pining for one of the many blondes on campus. After all, this gentleman might prefer a loud and obnoxious blonde. CoughCoughMonoBakuCoughCough

If you're looking for a little Love, "Show-mance" might just be the prompt for you. It's a romance that typically happens only during the run of a show. Tension is high, feelings are thrust around the stage, so who might Monoma become enamored with as they perform in rehearsal? Maybe he drops by a Cultural Festival practice and falls face first into Love. Perhaps he becomes intoxicated by someone's performance in a hero training session.

This is the perfect opportunity for an unexpected pair, if you like to go rare! MonoIida? MonoMomo? MonoWase? Or, one of my favorites, MonoKami?

Or perhaps you want to bump the sass factor up to 11 and give Monoma a chance to pull off his mask and tell someone like it is: "I can be smart when it's important, but most men don't like it."
