@ratracechronicler tagged me in this, so prepare to see my eclectic but very Canadian Alt-rock/indie tastes.

Rules: List ten songs you’ve been listening to a lot lately and tag some people.

1. Come Along by Cosmo Sheldrake (any song by Cosmo Sheldrake tbh, I've been listening to him since The Moss came out and adore everything he does)

2. Finger Guns by Sweet Crude (bilingual band from Louisiana. French and English)

3. RWYLD by Monowhales (alt-rock from Toronto)

4. Aspiring Fires by Mother Mother (all time favourite band, also Canadian)

5. Gentleman by July Talk (second top all time favourite, also Canadian)

9. Tom Thumb by Bitter Ruin (beautiful but wildly different from the others on this list.)

Tonight was so good 💜💜💜💜💜

Two Toronto-based bands called MONOWHALES and Featurette are touring the area and came to Hamilton tonight. I really dig MONOWHALES so I wanted to go - even managed to drag KC @czarcaustic and Logan along with me. Both bands put on a really great show!!! If you’re in the Toronto area I HIGHLY recommend them - if not you should look ‘em up on Spotify or something, they are both so worth it. (Most of MONOWHALES’ music can be found on Spotify under their previous name, Ginger Ale and the Monowhales.) It was a really tiny crowd but I had such a good time.

I got to chat with both Sally (vocalist) and Jordan (drummer) from MONOWHALES and they were suuuper nice; Sally even came around the merch table to give me a hug to say thanks for coming - she and Jordan both made it clear how much they, as a still-small band, really appreciate the support. I also spoke very briefly to Holly (the keyboardist) who complimented my alien-covered scarf and pointed out that we matched bc she was wearing a space shirt :’) And Sally was right up front dancing when Featurette went up, and even though dancing for me is more like bouncing we kinda danced together for a minute?? haha

anyway going to shows is so fun and you should check out these very good bands
