::CLOSED PSA MONS AVENTINUS 2016 - PREVIEW:: Begins today in Porto at the Complex of Monte Aventino the 2016 edition of CLOSED PSA MONS AVENTINUS. This is a Level V Tournament and simultaneously a male CLOSED PSA . A total of 78 athletes, we know that we will be able to watch over these three days, great Squash moments. In Men Draw, the strongest candidates to the final podium of course are Rui Soares, Claudio Pinto, Pedro Dâmaso and Alfredo Felicidade. However, these athletes will be fighting hard over the rounds as this truly great quality spread throughout the Draw. In Women Draw, the emphasis on the podium also falls in Catarina Nunes, Alexandra Santos, Sara Neves and Beatriz Dias .... but as likely the men's draw, it will be a hard fighting throught every match. I know that are gathered all conditions to actually be able to watch very good Squash. Over the three days as usual, we make drawings of VIP DOMOTEC, Gula, Salming and HEAD products. Hello to all, on this last day of tournament we have seen some outrage matches...
Carlos Cornes and Catarina Nunes won the first edition of MONS AVENTINUS !
Carlos defeated in the final by 3-1 and Claudio Pinto and Catarina defeated Alexandra Santos also for the same result!
Another day with simply fantastic matches and moments of great squash !
In the semifinals, Carlos Cornes had to suffer in beating one particular Rui Soares that do everything possible to sell very expensive the defeat! The final 3-1, made it clear that Rui bravely packed !
Rui even won the first game and left the enthusiastic audience with the 15/13 ! Then Carlos attacked more and Rui couldn’t do anything to the Spanish player. In the third and fourth game the 7 /11 and 9/11 exactly reflect this reality and made it clear that the work of Rui is giving result!
In the other semifinal Claudio also had to suffer with Aitor Zunzunegui Martin! Win by 3-1 , but Aitor played intelligently! Very difficult first game with Claudio win 11/9 in 22 minuts ! In the second game, the patient entered strongest and Aitor failed to counter the offensive flow of Claudio ! The 11/6 , reflects this reality and thus created sufficient pressure for the match ! In the third game, the Spanish did what it should have ! Attacked more varied and was more happier ! Won by 5/11 ! In the fourth game, the weight of the elapsed time and pace set by both gave the desired result ! Aitor got better, but the patient Claudius again , was just waiting for the opponent's mistake . Always stronger and better apply transitions , Claudius could force Aitor the end of the match with 11/8 !

First female with Catarina to take Alexandra won by 3-1 with Score 11/6 , 11/ 6, 11 /13 and 11/3 !
It was an interesting match as Catarina despite winning, had to call and accept the fact that Alexandra have fought enough! In the first two games, Catarina dominated and did not allow the possibilities of Alexandra react. In the third game, Alexandra accelerated the pace and eventually Catarina make some unforced errors! In the four game, once again lined the rhythm and bumps with greater length and pressure and Catarina ensured the final victory!
In the final podium place Marta Lopes who won Sara Neves!
MALE
In the Men’s Final the home environment was composed completely ablaze! Everyone knew that Carlos was the favorite, but in our minds the hope of a good result of Cláudio!
Carlos won 3-1 with score 10/12, 8/11, 11 /8 and 8/11 but made it clear that Claudio was on the court to fight and give his best!
In the first game Claudio came to 9/7 and 10/9, but the happiest, Carlos was able to download 3 of pace causing unforced errors in Claudio and close to 12/10. In the second game, despite the balance remains, Carlos was always in front! In the third game, fixed some details and asked Cláudio to have more patience! We knew that already existed long game, but it happened! Claudio was patiently attacking Carlos and ended up winning a very good advantage. So patiently won the third game!
In the fourth game, again the experience of Carlos appearing and Claudio though fighter, could not avoid the outcome of the game.
So Carlos Cornes won, but fight and courage was what we saw and witnessed the final, on the part of Claudio!
In the Final Podium, we had a sensational Rui Soares that won against Zunzunegui by an clear 3-0!

Thus ended the MONS AVENTINUS 2014 not before without witness the closing ceremony and prize giving ! In it, Carlos Cornes spoke on behalf of the athletes . Highlighted how all athletes were greeted and escorted to these three long days. Not to mention that the left surprised the female DRAW and that in fact the younger Portuguese athletes are on track !
By the Federation , Luis Ferreira said the attendance was just rewarding to the Federation and the partnership between the Municipality of Porto, Porto School of Squash and Federation actually did a great job .
Finally Nuno Babo 's from Porto Lazer , welcomed all the excellent tournament that the CMP and Porto , very pleased the number of participating athletes , the high level seen in the days of competition and that the Board and the Port Recreation , is pleased and like to support events like this. Did not end without stating that they are all so willing to continue and where possible support the CMP and PORTO LAZER , will naturally support this organization in other events that will take place on the Monte Aventino in 2014 !

Claudio defeated the Belgian Joeri Hapers by 3-0 with the score 11/9, 5/11 e 11/6!
Rui defeated by 3-0 Pedro Dâmaso with the score 11/6 , 11/3 and 11/4 !
Carlos defeated Pascal Valois and won by 3-1 with the score 11/5 , 11/7 , 7/11 and 11/8!
Aitor defeated João Caiano by 3-0 with the score 11/6 , 12 /10 and 12/10 !
Tomorrow the semi-final will provide great a god shows! Rui faces Carlos and Claudio faces Aitor!
