I am abandoning my Tender Disavowal fic.

I wanted to make this fic about the experience of this padawan leaving the Order and adapting to a new environment, and I wanted to explore the mechanics of leaving the Order, and illustrate the non-direct and direct support that I'm convicned they would recieve. Legal implications, too. I wanted to explore the relationship they would have to the Order, and their eventual reaction to the Jedi Genocide.

As the story currently is, though, I simply couldn't convince myself that they would actually want to leave. I had some reasons lined up, but the more I learned about the Order, the less these reasons applied. If I cannot convince myself that this character would want to leave the Order, I cannot appropiately write out their attitude, focus, and ambitions throughout the process.

The main idea was that they would want to actively focus on artistic persuits and not be involved in any duties that affected to the scale and importance of Jedi influence, but just... taking up other duties within the Temple? In the Archives? As a Temple guard? In the creche? As a GARDENER in the Room of a Thousand Fountains? These would be all postive persuits that would limit their influence without taking them away from the Temple, and would leave them time and tranquility to do artwork. Outside, they would have to work sidejobs anyways, or actively and terrifyingly promote their artwork (likely adjusted for commercial purposes) until they produce profit, and I just can't imagine they would want to go through that struggle when they can produce their work much more calmly. 

I had an idea about them wanting to make a political and social statement through their artwork, but that would involve a genuine desire to help, which brings me back to genuinely wanting to perform Jedi duties, which do consist mostly of diplomacy (with the notable exception that was the Clone Wars period.)

The Jedi Temple is one giant piece of artwork. I am playing Jedi: Fallen Order and one of the first things mentioned is Jedi composing music. The Clone Wars has an episode that shows Jedi traditional dances. There are Jedi researches and writers and poets... so like...

Yeah, I have unconvinced myself anyone would want to leave under normal circumstances. Even Anakin didn't want to leave, and he... actually had legitimate reason in not liking the lifestyle/philosophy nor particularly feeling himself part of the community. I could probably write a fic about him leaving if I magically made him more self-aware (a.k.a. mindfull)... but that doesn't particularly interest me.

The protagonist here, whose main idea includes not having any sort of resentment and just wanting something different, would have to be conceived differently from what I originally had in mind, and that would involve a rewrite. And it just wouldn't be about the things I wanted this fic to be about.

I'm writing an Assassin's Creed fic!

Saviors, Not Martyrs

Time is strange in The Grey, but outside The Grey, time, while not constant, has inertia.

The Reader stands in the shape of a person, and this is Layla's now eternal companion. If sometimes she glances up from the calculations and wonders, then, nobody can condemn her for that. If soon enough she questions him, she sure hopes someone blames her for what's about to happen next.

The both of them don't need to be sacrifices.

Or the story in which Layla pushes Desmond into having a happy life through time travel, and they nudge reality together.

I promised myself I wouldn't promote it until I had at least two chapters, and now I do! So here!
