         she really should choose her words more carefully. despite the fact that she definite-           ly thinks Sugilite is usually way ‘ too much ’, it’s not like Pearl goes deliberately out           of her way to make the fusion angry or hurt her feelings.

“S- Sugilite...?”

Pearl faltered, looking up - and up - and up. Sugilite was everything Pearl was not: large, and strong, and fierce. Just being near her made Pearl feel so small - but she planted her feet in the ground, crossing her arms. She wouldn’t let Sugilite push her around again, not like last time.

But the real question was - 

“How are you here? Amethyst and Garnet are...” She glanced uncertainly back towards the temple. She had seen them less than an hour ago, looking after Steven. They wouldn’t fuse without needing to, not after last time, they’d promised. “You can’t be here on your own, that just isn’t possible!”

The sounds of destruction grew louder and louder as Baddeleyite floated through the devastated path before her. Numerous trees had been uprooted and great stones had been smashed, almost as if whatever had come this way only destroyed them because it was in their way. Whatever had been through here needed to be stopped, that much was simple. Putting on a burst of speed, Baddel raced ahead down the path to find the source and hopefully put a stop to it.
