They are total freaks

To be romantic he swallows whole chunks of bloody raw meat, then regurgitates the partially-drained-of-blood meat into her mouth like a bird regurgitating food to its mate

Its less "male monsters are inherently more masculine" and "she found someone even more committed to the bit"
