Ngl, it was a fight for my life trying to finish this before his new design got revealed. I didn't want it to influence mine.
This was also my third attempt at drawing him, idk what it is about the dude that's so difficult for me. Here he is, cheekbones and all!
His aesthetic is kinda hard to parse. It's kinda rugged, kinda greaser, but then he's got those bell bottoms with the heeled boots which is super 70's and doesn't help him look any more like a teenager, my man is all over the place.
In the end I settled with a more rugged yet polished sort of look. I feel like Rom is the kinda guy who likes to look like he puts no effort into his appearance but secretly cares about it a lot, and I think part of that comes from the pressure of being a pack leader (I'm trying so hard to avoid saying "alpha")

For the sake of simplicity and not struggling to come up with a last name for him, he's Silvi's older brother. So he's Romulus Timberwolf. He has a ton of sisters, and he's the only boy, so I think his parents give him special treatment, but also put a lot of pressure on him.
He's not only Clawd's childhood friend, the whole Timberwolf family is very close to the Wolfs. And going off what I established in my fic, he had a long time crush on Clawdeen. Their families would sometimes tease them about it, and they'd ignore it, but Romulus did secretly have feelings for her. Feelings which were rekindled once he transferred from Crescent High to Monster High. The two stayed friendly, and he did attempt to act on those feelings a few times (which were always rejected) but when Clawdeen eventually did come out, he takes it very well. He realizes that he didn't really know much about her, and comes to terms that he was crushing on an idealized version of her. The two become genuine friends afterwards, and she helps him realize some things about himself he never considered.
He and Clawd rekindle their friendship and maintain a friendly sort of rivalry between their two packs and their accomplishments, which goes on into college as the two attend New Salem University.
Dee O'Gee is his ride or die, and Dee is very protective of him, acting as a sort of bodyguard and totally absolutely doesn't have any feelings for him.
Like I mentioned before he does not like Johnny. He had initially wanted to be his friend and invited Johnny to join his pack, to diversify so it's not just werewolves, but Johnny was adamant, and pretty rude in his refusal. This in turn kinda bruised Romulus's ego, and since then the two have had beef, each waiting for the other to cross a line to justify a fight.

- The relationship was a bit awkward at first, but not in a bad way. Clawd has never dated a guy before and Romulus doesn't have much experience dating in general (he's dated a few people, but nothing recent/too serious).
- But it was also pretty easy for them to get used to dating each other because of how long they've been friends.
- They wait a couple months to come out as officially dating, but they're friends all had a hunch (and by hunch I mean they all knew the entire time). They're both really bad at hiding things.
- Of course Howleen knew the whole time, she's the one who got them together in the first place.
- Heath is the only one who had no idea they were even into each other. "Romulus is gay?? Wait- CLAWD IS GAY??".
- Draculaura is 100 percent supportive of them and Clawd gushes about their relationship to her all the time when they hang out. She thinks it's just the cutest thing and she's happy to see Clawd happy.
- Romulus isn't used to PDA, so whenever Clawd holds his hand or kisses his cheek in public he gets insanely flustered. But he doesn't mind it.
- Romulus is touched starved (which is why he isn't used to PDA). His family isn't as affectionate and touchy as Clawd's, so he more than welcomes the physical affection and Clawd is more than happy to give it to him.
- When they cuddle, Romulus is almost always the little spoon. He likes being held.
- He also likes to pay for their dates, even though Clawd is fully capable of paying at least half of the bill.
- Their first kiss was an accident. They were cuddling and Romulus had leaned up to kiss Clawd's cheek, just as Clawd had leaned down to kiss his and then bam.
- They go to prom together, of course. Clawdeen makes them matching suits and they both get crowned prom King (Howleen definitely rigged it, but it was worth it and even Cleo didn't complain).

Writing this made me realize just how cute this ship is?? I mean, you can't tell me Romulus wasn't into Clawd in Fright On. That's why he hated Draculaura so much, my dude was jealous.
I want to draw fanart of them so bad, but I can't draw dudes 😩.
in g3 (from what ive watched so far)we've only seen clawdeen in her human form. i drabbled a bit on what romulus would look like. might draw barkimedes or howleen next
