Hey, y'all, here's some happy news! If you've been around for a while, you might remember "Monster Plus", the horror-comedy webcomic I did in collaboration with Chad Bowers and Josh Krach. The comic went on indefinite hiatus due to other obligations, and the website languished in obscurity and faded away in the sunlight...but now I've tracked down all those pages from the farthest reaches of the earth, and I've reassembled those dead parts together! Now, the comic lives once again in holy terror on my own website! Yay!

"Monster Plus" tells the story of a vampire-werewolf-zombie-mummy Frankenstein monster possessed by the ghost of Earth's last witch. He lives on the Moon in the year 2666, and along with his two spunky teenage sidekicks, Monster Plus fights a litany of weird horrors to keep the planet Earth from being literally scared to death.

Dear GuruKitty had such a wonderful idea for a daily drawing challenge that--even though I don't need another project--I can't help but participate! The challenge is Sixtember: a drawing per day in the month of September, at only six minutes each! What a lovely way to loosen up and push some pencil lead.

Today I was thinking about what a lovely time I had working on Monster Plus with Chad Bowers and Josh Krach, because today is Letterer Appreciation Day. (And I very much appreciate Josh's lettering.) So here's good ol' Monster Plus.

I'm gonna do a little interview with Andrew about Dracula vs Moby-Dick, and put together another little reader mailbag sketch thing. Just finished penciling Monster Plus page 4:3. So excited for this page! Tantalizing teaser: a Captain Dracula monologue! And in one panel I had to draw Drac with...NOT the most severe expression possible. A new and interesting challenge! Looks so strange to me? Not bad-strange. Just so different to see him with any expression that isn't "NYAH nyah nyah NYAAAAAH nyah!"

Drawing comics is the best thing in the world, you guys.
