Yo-Kai watch is objectively better than Pokémon and has made three games with 600 unique monsters over the course of one Pokémon generation.
I grew up with Pokémon and a year ago I'd think this was blasphemy but just from playing the first game it does so many things better and many things before Pokémon did or ever have done. There is more content than Pokémon has ever had and I'm only now realizing just how lazy and content with the same basic formula Gamefreak has gotten with no true rivals in the monster training subgenre. There are so many fun quests. So many optional things to collect for fun. The third game has a friggin roguelike dungeon that could almost be a standalone game. Plus it just... Takes itself so much less seriously while still being about the classic Power Of Friendship. The one liners may not be for everyone but it's such fun banter.
Please at least try it if you like Pokémon. even if you don't agree it's better it's still really good. They're a small company especially compared to Gamefreak and from what I've heard they're NOT happy to have a rival which is just... bratty imho. They deserve a lot of praise at the very least, we need someone to spice things up in my favorite type of games and they're so good at it. Please support and buy the games! At least give the trailers a watch and consider. They work so hard and it shows 💜
