Snowfur, Thunderclan Warrior

Daughter of Cloudbelly and Firethorn (I changed Sunstar’s rename), half-sister of Bluepath, wife of Thistlebriar, and mother of Whitepad. Genetically, she has 100% white-spotting covering a dilute tortoiseshell color. Her parents had just enough white between the two of them that enabled her to be completely white. Why tortoiseshell? Her mother carries the black aspect and her father the red aspect. Since both are diluted forms of black and red, that being blue and cream, she’d have to be a dilute. Her parents are both tabbies, but Firethorn’s mother wasn’t a tabby, so there’s a possibility that any of her children could be or carry solid. However, since her son is all white, it’s anyone’s guess. White does that, make knowing what’s underneath it a nightmare. So yeah, dilute tortoiseshell completely covered in white. I’m cutting down on the amount of blue-eyed white cats as only 20% of those can hear, so she’s yellow-eyed.

I don’t have much to say about her. She’s a sweet, but firm molly who loves children and her beloved Thistlebriar. They both wanted a lot of children, but tragically had one. Their son was only a child with only two years before he became an apprentice, but the village Snowfur lived in was attacked by monsters. She died in that attack, along with her mother and half-niece - Bluetuft’s bastard daughter - Pebblekit. Their corpses - or what was left of them - were burned together and their ashes scattered on the hill Cloudbelly loved to have picnics with her daughters and grandchildren. Bluetuft and Thistlebriar’s relationship was... tense at best, but the two set aside their differences to raise Whitekit together. Bluetuft’s other two kids, Mistpaw and Stonepaw, treated their half-cousin as if he was their own brother. Snowfur would be proud of the little bastards.

While she was alive, she had a good enough relationship with her half-sister, idolizing her accomplishments and always trying to be there for her. Bluetuft didn’t quite know how to feel about her, but she treated her as well as she could. It wasn’t until her death that Bluetuft realized how much she truly loved her in the storge way, even dripping into philia. (look up the Greek loves, there’s some meaning to these)

Other friendships she had were with her sister-in-law, Rosebark, and another molly named Leopardfoot. They’d often chat with one another of... whatever normal women talk about, idk. Probably a lot of gossip and bragging about their kids and trying to get Rosebark a man. She’s got her girl network.

Patchpad, Shaman of Riverclan

Genetically speaking, she is a longhaired black and white molly with vitiligo. This is her after just becoming a full-fledged shaman. As she ages, more of her will be white until she is mostly white with black speckles on her back. She’ll then decide to take on the name Specklepad, which is the name she has when the events of CSP happen. I didn’t feel comfortable enough making both of her eyes blue, so I made one blue and the other orange. In MVAU, Riverclan cats are more likely to have heterochromia.

Patchpad is named in reference to her patched pelt and her gentle personality. She can be quite sharp though, in speech and intellect. Soft like petals and sharp like blades. She doesn’t often wear the traditional shaman garb, only in important circumstances like communing with the gods or Crookedpath’s leadership ceremony. She wears everyday clothing otherwise.

She often enjoyed the company of the healer Mudfur. He passed on his worry for his daughter to Specklepad and the old shaman did what she could to prevent the path Leopardheart was headed for. Unfortunately, that plan failed.

Specklepad also enjoyed the company of the Thunderclan shaman Goosemaw, if only their relationship amounted to her teasing him for being very serious. She just wants to see others have joy in their lives.

She also had a close mentor-like relationship with Crookedpath as he grew up. He was undoubtedly distraught when she passed as she sort of became his godmother. In addition to giving her a ceremonial harpoon for Riverclan shamans to be burned with, Crookedpath gave an offering to the Lord of the River to ensure her spirit a safe passage into Starclan, the hide of a marshstalker monster.

She died at a ripe old age, but unfortunately wasn’t able to pass on her knowledge to an apprentice. Leopardpath took advantage of this in the War of Bloody Skies. Her body and important worldly possessions were placed on a small aquatic vessel and sent down the Swallowsun River before archers set the vessel on fire. She is now among Starclan, but is also one with the Lord of the River.

You guys don’t know this, but I pumped out two designs in a day. Because I really wanted to do MOON MAMA NOW WITH DOUBLE THE GRANDBABBIES

Cloudbelly, Warrior of Thunderclan

Cloudbelly is a blue lynx point with partial white-spotting, around 40-50%. Her legs are almost entirely white, but she’s only got white hands and underarms. Because she’s a point, she can absolutely have blue eyes. I mean, it’s the only eye color points can have. Kind of ironic how I made her have blue eyes and her brother amber eyes when it’s swapped in canon. For the uninitiated, a lynx point is a point with the tabby gene manifested.

As for relations, her twin brother is Goosemaw, her mother is Ashenfoot, her ex-husband is Stormtail, her daughter from him is Bluepath, her current husband is Firethorn, and her daughter from him is Snowfur.

In the naming system, which you can find here, Moon- could not fly. It’s specifically one of the banned prefixes due to religious purposes. She did seem like she fit her suffix, -flower, which in S1 Traditional Circles, means “nurturing of kits”, but due to the warrior-guardian dynamic, the word itself changed. She does have a name that comprises of a pale thing in the sky and a suffix indicating a strong maternal instinct. Besides, Cloudbelly is just the cutest thing - like - it sounds like I can just fall asleep on her and she’d just be the softest pillow ever~

She doesn’t have too much of an impact on any political arcs, but she does have the important role of being Bluepath’s goshdang mother, a role I think she did astoundingly with… as well as you can do with Bluepath… Admittedly she did have a closer relationship with Snowfur, but that was only because Bluepath was more aloof and self-reliant and definitely took after her father.

Her friendships included Speckletail and Poppydawn, who traveled much more than Cloudbelly did and often exchanged stories of the things they saw or the people they met. Cloudbelly would also babysit their kids, first Poppydawn’s twins, then Speckletail’s twins. When her own daughters started having their own children, she’d often babysit for them, especially for Bluetuft. The home was never quiet. Ever.

She lived a simple life, and sometimes there’s a beauty to the simplicity. Alongside caring for the young of the village, she’d weave linen or spin wool, then dye them to craft cozy shawls for others in the village. She was skilled in what she did. Goosemaw often wore a shawl made from her, as did Bluetuft -especially after her mother’s death. Mistdust, Stonetuft, and Whitepad all outgrew the last shawls she made for them, yet they still kept and took great care of them.

You know how she died if you read the Snowfur one. You know what was done with her body if you read the Snowfur one. You probably don’t know how her surviving family reacted to her death. Firethorn was obviously distraught that his wife, daughter, and adopted granddaughter died and puts some of the blame on himself. Bluetuft greatly mourned the one person who she recognized still had the capacity to be unconditional in the way they loved her (she just stopped the affair with Oakthorn right after becoming pregnant with Pebblekit and didn’t recognize Firethorn as someone who loves her). Even when her ex-husband received the news, he was at a loss for words and went to the village to pay his respects, much to Bluetuft’s irritation.

What happened to SkyClan that they are in ruins ? I suppose „Twolegs“ don’t exist the same way here ? And did they move or just.. die off ?

Humans simply don't exist in this world. Felids are the sapient species of this world and take up largely the same ecological niche humans do, just with a bit more predatory flair. Felids are omnivorous, but prefer meat, which the Valley has plenty of in the forms of deer, quail, duck, turkey, rabbit, aurochs, bison, fish, and domesticated goat and sheep brought from the Gray Family.

Skyclan was forged alongside the other clans with their leader being a tom named Clearsky, a son of the matriarch of the Gray Family, Quietrain. A few hundred years later, monsters poured in from the south, wiping out towns and villages in mere minutes... As if they were directed by something... Finally, they reached the capital city, the founding city, and took it over. Most died. Some escaped into the Thicket bordering Sky, Thunder, and Shadowclan territory, their descendants still wandering the Thicket, unaware of their ancestral claims. Only one family made it to another clan. Cloudpath, now called "the Crownless", his wife Bitterntail, and their two children Spottedkit and Sparrowkit.

After Skyclan's Fall, Cloudpath developed the Vanguard, which would train warriors to slay the monsters that have plagued the Valley since before the Gray Family's arrival. These warriors are called guardians, which you can easily discern from a warrior once you hear their name. Warrior suffixes are body parts, whereas guardians have more metaphorical suffixes, such as -storm and -thorn.

So, how does Firestar join ThunderClan in your AU? Cause I don't think they have the equivalent of a kittypet, do they?

They don't, but I'll leave that explanation for when I draw him and Roseface/Princess

Send me ask of a warrior cat in the Super Edition Era (Bluestar’s Prophecy, Crookedstar’s Promise, Yellowfang’s Secret, and Tallstar’s Revenge) and I’ll draw em in the Monster Vale AU

Try to keep them to important (main characters) and important-ish (relatives of main characters and other important players) characters as they’re what I’ve spent more time thinking on

Whats the War of bloody sky’s ? Is it the BloodClan battle of this AU ? And what’s Leopardhearts role in it ? (And thank you for drawing my request!)

You are most certainly welcome! It was kind of a refresher to draw felids again.

The War of Bloody Skies is what you guess it to be. I’m still working on the details, but essentially a band of rogues called the Blood Cult started setting up shop in the ruins of Skyclan. The Clans, especially a newly-fledged guardian named Rustspark and his sister Roseface, weren’t happy about that and a war ensued to drive the Blood Cult out of Skyclan’s territory.

Leopardheart - now Leopardpath - was set out for Riverclan’s safety and Riverclan’s safety only. She bartered with the Blood Cult’s leader, a small black felid with eerily odd blue eyes named Nightrise the Scourge, to help them take over the other three clans in hopes Riverclan would remain untouched - and get some of the land they’ve fought over with Wind and Thunderclan. Especially Thunderclan.

If you read my post on the naming system in MVAU (which you can find here), -heart can take a positive or negative meaning. The felid has a strong sense of morality and to an extent loyalty.

Rustspark’s warrior name was Rustheart, and he embodies the good side of the -heart suffix. He’s altruistic, even to the point of letting in a certain old crone just because she was weak and helpless, despite the fact others thought of her a criminal. In addition, he expects others to put the needs of the weak above their own, to set aside petty differences such as birth or creed if someone is in danger, hence why he snapped at Bluepath for acting coldly at the early signs of Shadowclan’s suffering under Brokenpath’s rule.

Leopardpath embodies the bad side of the -heart suffix. She strongly believes in the ideal of her clan and has an overzealous nationalism. She essentially murdered her way into power by killing deputies she felt were too soft or were tough competition for her becoming leader. Once Crookedpath was on death’s door, she had the captain assassinated by one of the Blood Cult, was essentially the one decent candidate for being clan leader, and at his death, became leader. Specklepad died quite a ways into Crookedpath’s leadership, but again, due to never having an apprentice, Riverclan was spiritually deaf. She used this to her advantage to do some pretty heinous things.

During her leadership, she tried to maintain clan purity by making half-clan cats either swear fealty to Riverclan and become infertile or die. Graystripe was unfortunately still in Riverclan at this time and smuggled his children to Thunderclan with a message to bring to his old friend. Unfortunately, he was killed for his troubles, but Stormpaw and Minnowpaw were able to make it to Thunderclan and alert them and the other clans of the turmoil in Riverclan.

As for Leopardpath’s fate? Let’s say she “poured her heart out” for her clan when Nightrise found her no longer useful...

After the war, Riverclan was able to recover from the blow and appointed Blackclaw as leader. A hopeful shaman in the making was soon found from a young molly named Mothface, who is trained in the ways of the gods by the other shamans.

Little update on the MVAU redesigns

1) after receiving an ask for doing Sunstar, I was a bit hopeful I could get another shot at drawing him. When I’d done Moonflower, Goosefeather, Stormfur, and Bluestar, he was the next one I did, but I was never satisfied with how he was coming out. He’d be too stocky or too skinny or his face didn’t look right or his pose didn’t capture the warmth of his personality. Trying again now, I’m having the exact same problem. I’ll try to work on him, but he won’t be released for quite some time because he’s THAT Warrior I can’t seem to design to my satisfaction. I’ll work on other warriors I’ve been suggested until I can get Sunstar to look good.

2) Moonflower, Goosefeather, Stormfur, and Bluestar are also acceptable suggestions for the redesigns. They need a bit of a facelift - Stormfur and Bluestar especially - but a few things have changed since then. I’m drawing the new designs with a different lineart and coloring style and made their art in a way I can line them up for height comparisons.

In the meantime, you can ask me about how events go down in the MVAU. I’d love to talk about it - at least until I get the sideblog up and running.
