Jack heard footsteps behind him, and he gripped his staff harder as he whirled around to see who happened to be following him. His expression softened as he beheld what appeared to be an ordinary girl. She likely didn't mean any harm. But why was she following him? Could she see him?
He flew over to the girl and waved his hand in front of her eyes. "Hello? Can you see me?" He wished he was better at reading facial expressions so that he could tell what the girl was thinking, but if he had been any good with facial expressions, he would have made a few more on his own face. As it was, a lot of people got confused with what they read off of his face, even though he thought he'd been perfectly clear.
Jack huffed and stepped aside. He would just have to hope that the girl would talk, or he'd have a very hard time telling what was going on.
