Month of Fear 2019 - Monsters Above

Look at those gorgeously dressed old white men at the top of the foodchain. They're probably thinking benevolent things about us below. How to trickle down their riches so we too can profit from their good fortunes in a finite system. If we're not up there with them, we must not want to; it's certainly not for lack of opportunity, if we only worked hard enough.

I've been feeling like political art lately - I've always followed the news but rarely thought I could add anything as an artist. My greatest challenge probably is that I seriously don't want to offend anyone but simply express my thoughts on the matter. I am a person who starts every answer with "It depends". Because it does. Much quieter than the work-heavy InkTober challenge, possibly because of the longer time allotted to work on the individual subjects, was the Month of Fear art challenge hosted by Kristina Carroll. The themes this year were "Monsters", with the suffixes Above, Below, Within, Without, and Unseen. My entries were part digital, part traditional (I wish I had managed all of them to be traditional, but there are only so many hours in the day, and drying times are murder).
