Cornelia held up the bundle of cliff grasses at the monster for... a little while, before lowering her arm as they made no move outside of simply studying her, something the young girl returned without appearing all that perturbed. For all she knew, the Kirin just wasn’t interested in a snack, and was just observing her as a novel element to their environment. She still looked at the fistful of plants though, wondering if they just didn’t like the taste of these ones, and, pushed by curiosity, took a tiny bite out of the tip of a flower.
Her face contorted in a grimace almost immediately, tongue lolling out to try and lose the chunk in a wad of spit. She might as well have been licking one of the coral rocks, with that taste and texture. The bundle of grasses found its way into a pouch strapped to her belt, already full to bursting with greenery from the coral highlands.
Now, she knew that Kirins could be short tempered. They weren’t agressive, but they didn’t always appreciate the company of humans, or to see them invade their space, and Cornelia happily kept a safe distance. Yet looking at that one, their ears weren’t pinned back, and they didn’t appear to show any agitation. So, emboldened, but still mightily cautious, the young apprentice started inching closer, and closer, from the beast, keeping a very keen eye on their posture and body language... until she was standing by their flank.
And actually found it quite hard to look over the Kirin’s back. They were quite large, all things considered.
