maybe this puts me in the minority, but I genuinely hope they never do anything to explain where the powers in the life is strange series come from, like the sheer random bullshit of it all is one of my favorite parts. kids born in the pnw are just like that sometimes i guess.

is it a reach for me to wonder if some people have problems with Daniel because he explicitly verbalizes the exact same "I've got the power, I should make the decisions for us" attitude that Max and Alex also struggle with quite a bit, but don't express nearly as bluntly.

Went looking for this post about how lis characters' powers match their personalities because it's so true, but it's also true how powers are really. bad for them personality wise.

like, max struggles with anxiety and self-doubt, so rewind tempts her to go over every major decision over and over again until it starts causing her and her environment physical harm. daniel is an impulsive traumatized child with poor emotional control, so telekinesis makes expressing those emotions an active threat to people he loves while also forcing him to rapidly grow up into a protector role. alex is selfless to the point of self-effacement, so empathy causes her to be consumed by other people's emotions and lures her into "helping" them by messing their emotions up instead.

sure, these powers have saved these kids' lives repeatedly and make them a thousand times stronger and more confident, but the double-edged sword of psychological damage is soooo. god.
