the thing about the "Daniel is blessed by God" theory is that an equal amount of in-game credence as the "Rachel caused the storm theory" when you really think about it. I propose we combine them into a "Rachel is God" theory and see what happens.

my favorite thing about max being the "face" of lis (especially with the new game) is that she's also the one single main character with no family angst to speak of. like parental/sibling trauma is a HUGE part of the themes of every game and you literally would never know it if you looked at just her backstory. she's the normal-parents mask that everybody else hides their moldering family skeletons underneath.
an incredible and terrifying power contained in the body of a small, tousled-hair child...where have I heard that before.
this person gets it
thinking about William's death being a complete accident, leaving Chloe with nowhere to focus her grief until she starts lashing out at people around her, VS Esteban's death being a result from a very specific act of institutional prejudice manifested in a very specific person who Daniel kills almost immediately (and who everyone thinks Sean killed) in an act of accidental revenge. but they can't even get closure from that because they have to go on the run in a large part because of that revenge, while Chloe has a chance to grieve without fleeing from the fucking cops, but also has nothing to distract her from it until she meets Rachel (and we all know how that ends). but in both cases they all end up struggling with blaming themselves and the people around them, because in the end grief is a monster that comes in so many different forms, but wounds us in the same ways.
little doe and little wolf in the big mean traps...
it's not really the same thing, but the Kate Marsh discovery on listwt reminds me of that one YouTuber who found out you can see Daniel through the window in ep 2 while he's looking for Mushroom in the woods.
