Monte Verde, distrito de Camanducaia-MG fica a cerca de 490 km de Belo Horizonte, pela BR 381. As temperaturas baixas, chocolates e arquitetura que lembra a Suíça, fazem do pequeno distrito a "cidade dos namorados". Local de generosa natureza, rodeados por montanhas e uma diversidade de restaurantes e locais para passeio, fazem de Monte Verde uma o local ideal para quem quer fugir da tumultuada vida na cidade grande.

My husband and I just returned from a beautiful vacation in Costa Rica!

On the day of my 60th birthday, we took a bus excursion to the Monte Verde Forest Reserve. The highlight was a two-hour hike in a "cloud" forest. It rained most of the time while we hiked. Along the way, we crossed 6 hanging bridges. It was spectacular!  Our photos didn't do justice to the vegetation and the exotic birds that we saw. The scariest part of the trip for me was not the hanging bridges, but the drive up and down the mountains on a narrow dirt road. But we survived, and the views were worth it!  Best birthday treat ever!
