Diano d'Alba & Monviso Monte Viso or Monviso is the highest mountain of the Cottian Alps, located in Italy close to the French border. It's known for its pyramid-like shape and can be seen from a great distance. In Italy, it's also known as Il Re di Pietra (The Stone King) because of his prominence within the western Italian Alps landscape.
