Assassin's creed and Monte Cristo crossover ideas (because I'm insane)
Everytime I talk about about the Count of Monte-Cristo I always end up calling him Desmond instead of Edmond because I’m an idiot like that and also Asscreed own my ass.
Anyway, this obviously led me to think of a crossover between the two and I have two options in mind:
- The obligatory Desmond ends up in the story but more isekai like: basically Edmond starts starving himself earlier and actually die, Desmond “die” using the Eye and wake up in Edmond’s body. He catches a quick glimpse of what Edmond’s life had been up to until this point but it’s a detached point of view. He is still able to use his Eagle’s Eyes. He meets Faria as Edmond was supposed to do and they plan their escape together as Faria teach him stuff – not as much as he taught Edmond in the book because again Desmond already knows stuff, like speaking Italian and English and because of his transmigration into Edmond’s body he knows speak French fluently-. Anyway, they escape -and I’d like to think that they escape 1) earlier 2) together, like Faria doesn’t die. They do find the secret entrance on Monte-cristo -the eyes does help them- and then they go on forging their identities, and Desmond goes on rebuilding the brotherhood.I still want Desmond to help the Morrel so I feel like out of respect for Edmond he would check on his father, learn about his death and how Morrel tried to help and thus decide to repay their kindness. He met Albert in Rome who glows golden and from then the story proceeds sort of like in the book except Desmond feels … sort of detached from it and only take care of Villefort, Danglars and Fernand because they glow red. He also has some assassins with him. Faria might be dead by this point or is still in Italy teaching new recruits his science. Bonus point if at some point Desmond gets his scar back in a stupid accident. Also, this would be -in my mind- a Desmond/Albert kind of stuff, simply because Desmond has no feelings for Mercedes, and while it is still Edmond’s body, Desmond is a completely different man, and Mercedes would not recognize him. Also I just love the relationship between Albert and the Count and I genuinely feel like most adaptations don’t do it justice. (Albert has a big crush on the Count imo and the Count is fond of Albert, even if he knows what he plans to do will hurt him and Mercedes.) (Not that I plan on writing this, but this would be following the book more than any adaptation that came out so… much more characters to have fun with)
- Option B is: Edmond is sent to Chateau d’If, meets Faria who is an Assassin and teaches him the way of the brotherhood. Meanwhile, Danglars was already a Templar and had reached a high ranking while dragging Fernand with him. I like the Idea that Villefort is also one now but wasn’t when the story began. Noirtier was an assassin. Anyway, events proceed like in the book but this time Edmond’s finds remnants of the Brotherhood -Vampa, Jacopo, Bertuccio- and rebuilds his own to deliver Justice /Providence and most importantly gets rid of the Templar in Paris >:)
You can also have a mix of the two with Desmond arriving in a world where Danglars and Co are Templars, but I think it’s funnier if templar are not a thing anymore but Desmond is still like “Yeah, gotta have some assassins running around” bonus point if Haydee become an Assassin. She would be so badass. :)
