It's time to present you my versions of Zorglub and Pacôme in their younger years!

I mainly based them on Munuera's interpretation, though I redesigned Pacôme to better fit my own style. This mini-comic serves as an illustration for my fanfiction, which I published on AO3. It will likely become part of a larger project in the future.

Both this story and this comic are part of my #champiglub family AU.

Just curious, what is Gaston Lagaffe?

*deep breath*

Gaston Lagaffe is a comic series from belgian artist André Franquin and is essentially a comedic spin off to the popular adventure comic series “Spirou and Fantasio”, which for many years had also been authored and drawn by Franquin.

While Spirou and Fantasio follows the adventures of the reporter Fantasio and his bellhop bestie Spirou as they solve mysteries around the globe, Gaston Lagaffe follows Fantasio’s Coworker…. Gaston Lagaffe as he essentially causes chaos around the Dupuis office.

Gaston Lagaffe is a skit comedy where every skit is around a page long and unlike Spirou & Fantasio there is no overarching narrative. It does have a set cast of reoccurring characters consisting of: Spirou & Fantasio themselves, the editor in chief Léon Prunelle, the cartoonist Yves Lebrac, the secretary and Gaston’s love interest Mademoiselle Jeanne and many others.

Most skits are about Gaston, who is primarily characterised by his laziness and lack of basic common sense, tries to evade having to do any work at the office by inventing new machines to make his work for him but just end up creating major damage to public property.

Little Fun Fact: Gaston’s name is also a pun as “Lagaffe” roughly translates to “disaster”. My boyfriend on e described Gaston as “The ultra instinct Shaggy meme but it’s stuck at a 9 to 5 job”.
