AFTERTHOUGHTS: I LOVE YOU SINCE 1892
#ILoveYouSince1892 is beautiful, meaningful, intoxicating, heartbreaking, soul crashing, tearjerking and enchanting—all of the same time. I thought it would just be another love story, but boy, was I wrong. I admit, at first t'was all about rainbows and flowers and stars– then suddenly I was taken to a bath where blood, sweat and tears were the only form of liquid. It was like Noli Mi and El Fili all over again, but with more complications, challenges and convolutions. The intergalactic story and predominant love of Carmela and Juanito taught me A LOT, not just in terms of love, life and principles, but also about my country's history and how it must be given value and importance, especially by the new generation. Everyone who fought for themselves, their family, their motherland, and for the future are all heroes. We shouldn't forget and disregard their courage, hardwork and sacrifices. They fought for what's supposed to be theirs, they fought for their dreams and for the justice that was withhold from them, and most importantly, they fought for the sake of the next generations to come.
Now, how much thankful our generation should be?
The difficulties the Indios experienced under the colonization of the Spaniards are nothing compared to the freedom and sweet life today's generation are living. Destiny at the wrong time. They were the right person for each other, but their love was at the wrong place and at the wrong era. Meant to be but not meant to be together. For a long time, she searched for so many things and caused many deaths in order to prevent his tragedy, when infact it was her love that will save him all along. He waited for her even after she was gone and with the knowledge that she will never come back to him, but still, he waited with love, hope and anticipation. They were the inspiration of each other despite the gap of their lifetime. They were conspired by destiny, separated by the universe and have been brought back to each other by fate.
Their love will be written for the very last time— and all I can ever wish is for them to finally have their very own happy ending.
