Today we celebrate Apollon!
Seven is his favourite number and because he was born on the 7th day, the Athenians honoured him on the 7th day of every month. Today is the 7th Mounykhion on the Attic lunisolar calendar.
Happy monthday, Apollon 🎂🏹🎶

Today, the people of ancient Athens honoured Poseidon and his demigod son Theseus.
Theseus is most famous for defeating the Minotaur and thus saving the Athenian youths sent to Crete as a sacrifice. In a lesser known myth, he retrieved the ring of King Minos after the latter threw it into the sea with the claim Theseus wouldn’t be able to recover it. But as a true son of Poseidon, dolphins swiftly carried him to the house of his father and Theseus came up from the sea with that ring and also with a gold crown that his step-mother Amphitrite had given him.
