He’s the kind of thing people pick up and carry around, a notepad, if you will. So, he's seen it all: Flower King, Sans’s, Noelle’s house, the Church.. he knows A LOT of Darkners. He remembers everything: every scribble, every word said around him. Like every Darkner, except his memory could be considered even greater. That memory is a blessing and a burden: he clings to what’s been said about him because he has very little faith in himself.

After the Dreemurrs split, he was put aside, left to gather dust on an end table near a church book. Tenna found him there and gave him a job as a personal organizer and manager. Being useful again made him glow a little inside, saving him from being forgotten means more than he can easily say. He owes Tenna everything, and his feelings for him can often blur between fierce gratitude, quiet affection, and something warmer (yes, he's gay, EVERYONE in this house be loving Tenna atp, but he liked Spamton as well, so it's okay).

Paper has its weaknesses, therefore water is his nightmare. He’s openly distasteful towards the Mizzles from the Church Dark World: the fear of being ruined by a even a tiny splash makes the fear almost palpable.

He worships the Knight with a small, stubborn devotion. He’s convinced he knows who the Knight is (he thinks it's Dess, because something about them reminds him of her) but he can’t prove it, so he keeps watching and cataloguing details as if the proof will appear on the next page.

He can change his face like someone changing into a costume, you just flip to a fresh page or sketch a new expression with a pencil. Unlike the way Spamton has Tenna's same uniform, Pad doesn't. His is blue (the reverse of Tenna’s red) and he wears his own tie as a quiet declaration: he’s loyal, he’s indebted to Tenna, but he’s still his own person.
