Act I: Introduction Assignment
Two households, both alike in dignity
To me these words remind me of the concept of 2 halves make one whole. Both of the families are extremely similar (due to the words both alike), but with one thing that makes them different and thereby bitter enemies. As I have read Romeo and Juliet a long time ago, I know that the house of Capulet and Montague are bitter enemies, but I can’t remember the reason why. Also, it probably has to do with blood relations since households are usually made up of people who are related by blood. Also, since they have dignity, it would mean that they probably have power in the community of some sort. Maybe they are equally respected by everyone and it makes it difficult to settle differences between your rival for power both of them are constantly trying to get the edge.
As far as feelings go, I don’t really get a sense that this a person talking. Rather its a narration of some sort. Additionally, though it might be kinda lame to frame it like this, it seems to be setting the stage for the story to occur/Defining the rules of this world. When rules become finalized and stagnant in video games, inevitably either developers or the community breaks these rules within a month or two and it throws the world back into the starting point of chaos. This is probably what is going to happen here.
Finally, the images of the two households I imagine are classical roman buildings due to the gravitas in which the narrator presents the households.
