Clarke is a successful surgeon in the city, but after a toxic relationship with her boss Lexa, the death of her patient Maya and the suicide of her friend Jasper, she decides to go back to the country where she was raised. There, she takes the time to heal with her father who still owns the house, her childhood best friend Wells and all the other delinquents she left there when she followed her mom to the city after the divorce. She finds unexpected comfort with Octavia’s brother, who changed a lot while she was gone. The chaos-maker she always bickered with left his place to a sweet boy in henleys. Some things never change though: they still argue, and he still makes her heart beats faster than anyone else.

Moodboards for fics I’ll never write: Christmas Modern AU

The last ten years have not been easy for Clarke. She got in a royal mess following her mother’s actions with Doctors without borders, and after making some decisions concerning the other members and the community they were operating in, she found herself surviving alone in an hostile environment. That's where she found a little girl named Madi she immediately adopted, and somehow the both of them survived alone for six years, until Diyoza’s crew found them. Thanks to the woman, Clarke was able to get back to her mother, her old team and most importantly, her best friend Bellamy. 

6 years is a long time, but even though Clarke didn’t seem to click as easily with the group as before, Bellamy has been by her side since the day she came back. Since then, through thick and thin, he helped her in all the ways he could. Now, he practically lives in her flat, and since Octavia and Roan pushed them to « get their shit together and admit their undying love for each other already», they’ve become more than best friends. He’s part of Clarke’s family, and she wants him to know that. So for this Christmas, she got him a gift to show him he belongs.

For as long as she could remember, Clarke had always been a dreamer. She always wanted everyone around her to have a good life and be happy. From her family’s handmaids to the mother who lived across her street Clarke always tried to help the people surrounding her. She lived 18 years in a beautiful cocoon. But on the day of her wedding, her life collapsed. She learned that her father did not die in an accident as she previously thought, but was killed to keep a government’s secret safe. Simultaneously she learned that what she thought was a charity was actually her mother’s and Jaha’s well-crafted plan to make sure people would stay servile, poor, and powerless. She went to tell her fiancé and found evidence that Finn had been cheating on her for what seems to be a few years. As her cousin Josephine told her to suck it up and to get ready, as she made her way to the altar and listened to the priest’s sermon it appeared clearer than ever: she was living in a gilded cage. Something changed in her; that wasn’t the life she wanted to live. So Clarke turned away and left. She got in her car and drove as far away from there as she could.

She didn’t plan to become a vigilante known as the bride of justice. Nor did she plan on falling for Bellamy, a thief who seemed to be more than what he pretended to be. Sometimes, life finds a way.

When Bellamy said to his sister that she could ask whatever she wanted for her 18th birthday as long as he’d be able to afford it, he didn’t expect her to ask to go to a hippie festival in the middle of the woods on the other side of the country. No matter how hard he tried, Octavia wouldn’t budge on it, she wanted to go to the « Grounders » with her best friend Clarke and nothing else and, as she said, « If we go by car it won’t be too expensive pleaaaaaaase Bell for once in my life I just want to have fun ! » Bellamy finally accepts on two conditions: he is coming with them and he’s driving the car. Little did he know that this summer of 1972 would become the most memorable vacation of his life.

Clarke always considered herself a rather lucky girl. She lived a great life in wealth as the daughter of Queen Abby. She was beautiful, talented, smart, and most of all, she had her amazing best friend Wells and a family that loved her. That is, until she met Cilian. Cilian who, for a reason that escaped her, had fallen for her. Cilian who, in hopes of making her yield, got her tons of presents: jewelry, dresses, servants, and finally something priceless: the gift of clairvoyance. But when he understood that Clarke still didn’t want him, he got mad and put a curse on her--she could see the future but no one would ever believe her. From then on, Clarke didn’t consider herself so lucky anymore. She lost both her dad, and her best friend. She saw their deaths coming but no one believed her, no matter how loud she screamed - just as Cilian had promised. Clarke was never the same afterwards.

So she decided to take matters into her own hands. If she couldn’t convince people to take action, she was going to act herself. Even if it meant getting her hands dirty and becoming Wanheda.

She’d bear it so they wouldn't have to.
