i think "skooma pipes" aren't actually made for skooma; they're made for moon sugar specifically. you drink skooma. moon sugar you burn and inhale via a pipe, kind of like crack cocaine. the effects of skooma and moon sugar are very different, however: skooma is more explicitly hallucinatory, whereas moon sugar does not feature that side effect as heavily.

of course, the traditional use for moon sugar was as a spice in khajiiti cuisine. you use much finer particles for that, and consuming them orally doesn't produce the same high as smoking it or drinking skooma (much more subdued and less addictive this way). also, skooma as we know it today is actually derived from hallucinatory tinctures used in ritual ceremonies by moon priests in elsweyr

Now this one will be interesting. Moon Sugar is definitely one of Skyrim's best known ingredients, largely because of its use as a drug and its part in the creation of Skooma. Against it is Felsaad Tern Feathers, which I feel fairly confident in saying is one of the most obscure ingredients. The latter seems to be at a pretty obvious disadvantage, but maybe that obscurity makes seem it cool and mysterious?

Remel J'had, the Sugar-King of Elsweyr arrives at the @tes-gala, draped in finery evoking the god Baan Dar, and a hand bearing 5 rings in reference to the Five Fingers Dance. And, knowing how painfully inhibited Aldmeri social events can be, he was generous and wise enough to bring a few bottles of a distilled kha'jay var (moon-sugar) concentrate along in order to liven the event up. Not sure if that means I have to tag this for drug use or not.

Feeling a bit like a fraud submitting a hero-forge model to sit alongside everyone's gorgeous hand-drawn art pieces, but fuck it I used kitbashing to make his Baandari veil and it looks dope. Nobody's moving in hero-forge like me. I also completely remade my much earlier, much shittier Remel heroforge model for this and it looks immensely better.

Like cats, Khajiit don't have the glands to taste regular sugar. They can only taste Moon Sugar, which they adore like catnip.
