Right so this one's a character ive rp'ed a lil bit as on some superhero/villain mmo (city of heroes) but im probs gonna just transplant her here ig

my horrible horrible corpse of a noble woman, Swarmsinger. She's honestly more insect hivemind than corpse tbh.

Like, her spirit isn't inhabiting the rotting body that she dresses up as pretty as she can. It's in the swarm of bugs puppeteering it. That's not even her original body. She's just been killing people and infesting a new body every time whatever she's in gets too rotten or damaged.

Doesn't really remember her past or even like what she might have been like in the past aside from the fact that she came from some richass family. Since individual members of her swarm die off fast, she's pretty much being constantly ship-of-theseus-ed.

I'm thinking of having her as an occassional solo villain encounter sometime ( watch me procrastinate this like crazy ).

ONE: One of my middle names was the clairvoyant name of two relatives of mine - the first being my great-great grandfather's sister, who was arrested for telling fortunes in London in 1925, which caused a real stir as she was VERY popular and well-known in her circles, the prosecuting magistrate even had a letter from a man threatening physical violence against him if he proceeded with the case. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle even got involved, and wrote an open letter defending her. She was released with a fine, I think, and she was cheered as she left court. She had a daughter out of wedlock and gave her to my great-great grandfather to raise as his own, and she grew up to be an almost-as-famous clairvoyant who used the same name. My mother stayed with her a lot when she was a child and adored her, hence the name being bestowed upon me. Here's the link to the Doyle article, in case folks think I'm chatting out my rear end. TWO: As it happens, I also practice the craft. Not as often as I should, but I have many tarot/oracle card decks and heaps of crystals. I also have candles and ingredients, and all sorts of relevant tools. I've also had various experiences with the departed - which I won't go into here, but feel free to reach out if you're interested, I have no issues sharing.

PROMPTS FOR PATCHING UP WOUNDS

Why did Virote have to worry like this? The scorpion yōkai had been no joke. Inuyasha had been pierced through the gut, and venom meant for demons was the only kind that could affect him. He'd been coughing up blood for a few hours now, even though his suikan had already regenerated itself. Fire Rat silk was magical in nature. That was how it'd grown with him, through every stage of life. From childhood, to adulthood. From malnourishement to onverindulgence. All of it, it only took time.

"You're really not gonna let this go, are you?"

Carefully, he undid his suikan, revealing his curved, rounded form. The wound itself had scarred over, and within a day, that scar would be gone. It would be replaced with soft flesh all over again. Inuyasha's skin was unnaturally soft, just like his hair, and the fur on his ears. It came with his abnormal healing. The piercing scar itself was just above his navel. One of the most sensitive (and thus most painful) parts of his body.

"Happy now? I'm--" Inuyasha broke out into a blood-ridden coughing fit, leaving his breaths ragged. "--I'm fine. Just some residual poison in my belly. I'll heal in a day or two." Yōkai blood had a way of purging poisons. As a hanyō, it just took him longer. "Keh, The wound itself doesn't really hurt anymore. Just an ache. It's my goddamn lungs that're killin' me."

Bold to say. Inuyasha had one thing on his mind: Milk. Steamed milk, in fact. Anyone who knew how to make it over fire without evaporating it... or could obtain milk in some way through a ranching village, they would be subject to his puppy dog eyes until they made him some steamed milk. It was the ultimate drink.

Warm, filling, comforting. Everything a man could ask for.

So he defied those words, and put even more of a sparkle in those golden eyes. That was a trick he picked up from Kagome, back in the old days. She always could get him to do anything with a sparkle in her eye. He'd figured it out himself, and was now using it. Big, golden puppy dog eyes at you, Virote.

He's thirsty for a really nice treat, steamed milk. Make it happen, or suffer a grown ass man acting like a total puppy expecting his favorite thing.

"Alright, first of all, I can't tell the story if you're going to swan into soliloquy like that. ... That's the wrong word, but I wanted a turn." What she wanted was monologue, but "m" was a bit trickier to play with. To her, at least.

"His name is Thane, and I should clarify that he's a former assassin. Feels like it won't help much." She'll be taking a glass of that, thank you, and the shark cutie board had better have that fancy honey from the farmer's market.

(It's a sampler selection from the Savannah Bee Company stall, but it was pricey, so same thing.)

"He and his son Kolyat were visiting Earth to see the ocean, and happened to pick Lanai. I ran into Thane, he needed to sit down - Earth's climate was being a bit rough - and we ended up talking for, like, an hour before his son found him."

A pause.

"And it is a very nice voice. Very low, with that kind of... noir fry you only hear in black-and-white movies."
