Dear Vector Prime, can you tell us how Cybertronians measure length?
Dear Measurement Moderator,
We have many units, as you may have expected from a long-lived civilization. I will mention a few here. For traveling through space, a typical unit is the "astrometer", which is the distance from Cybertron to Moonbase 2.
On Cybertron itself, the vun is one of the most ancient measurements, being related to space as vorn is related to time. A vun is effectively 8.3 megakliks. Nowadays, vuns are a bit archaic, and you only hear about them in ancient poetry. For example, a popular old epic poem about Prima taming early Cybertron has him say "Vuns and vorns to go before I rest / But Matrix fail me should I lose the quest."
A klik is a more modern standard. They are named for Clicker, whose alt-mode length is taken to be the definition of one-thousandth of a (spatial) klik. You can find replicas of his alt-mode stored in most laboratories and factories on Cybertron; Wheeljack was known to give titanium versions of them to new graduates of his mechanics academy.
It is very important that you understand that all of our measurements must take mass-shifting into account. You may see a "0MS" (zero mass-shifting) stamp on designs, for example. Grapple and Hoist once famously architected a building, "The Suspension of Disbelief", where each room requires the visitor to mass-shift to properly fit the scale!
