‘ we’re all burning ’ (for katherine)
The vampire frowns, a rare display of worry from the usually eternally poised woman. Aislinn is, unfortunately, right. Their enemies are closing in faster than Katherine predicted and while she’s sure the wolf’s word choice is meant as a metaphor for how everyone is suffering equally, it’s far too close to becoming LITERAL for Katherine’s liking.
“We need to move,” she strategizes, quickly going through possible scenarios in her head. “I’m not becoming a flambéed vampire, thank you very much.” A scowl. “It’s best to regroup before we fight them head on.”
