Blame him, blame his clumsy feet, blame whoever he felt push him, but he fell. All the way down, all the way down. He blacked out mid-fall, waking up only from the impact of hitting the ground. Walking through wooded area after wooded area, through a building and then some, Link found himself in a new town. A whole new place.

“Where am I?” He looked around. He knew nobody, nothing was familiar. He walked up to the first person he came to, a tall, tall, man. He poked them in the arm. “Excuse me? Can you tell me where I am? I’m completely lost.”

“...Do you hear better than us?” Ike asked, breaking the silence. 

The question might have come out of nowhere, but he’d been wondering this for a bit now. He knew the Laguz had better senses to some degrees than Beorc, and it was easy to guess some -- hearing being one of them. Their ears had the attributes of animals, after all, and Ike had been impressed at the fact that someone like Ulki and Ranulf could hear things that he wasn’t even aware of in the distance.

Link’s ears were visibly different, and sort of put him in mind of the Bird tribes. 

“I...know someone who can...hear things going on far away from himself. Your ears are a lot like his, at least in looks.”

"It is not wrong. They see it as they can, but there is nothing that will convince them until you can show them how YOU see it."

“I am aware of that, but without solid proof to show that this is not the man we knew and love.” Xander had his hunches for years, but was in denial and need solid proof, their is no way he can show it to his siblings unless they attack him--which was out of the question, “...” he was struggling what to do.

“Um, did you... is there anything I can help you with?”

Okay, sort of pathetic for a first attempt, but Soren truly did not know how to act around children. It was easy enough to talk to Link when he had something specific to speak about. When it was just a try at alleviating the boy’s supposed boredom, however, the mage was rather lost.

To be fair, he wasn’t completely sure if Link was sitting by himself outside their fort because he wanted to, or if it was because he had nothing better to do. Perhaps Soren was only assuming things because of his own discomfort at the situation.

“...I think Ike will be back from town soon,” he supplied after a moment’s pause, hoping that was something the boy would be more interested in. “He only went to pick up some supplies, so it shouldn’t be long.”

Well that made sense from what little he had seen already. Even without his armor he looked like he didn’t belong. “A-Alright.” He agreed. “You could have just told me though...”

I really really love moonbreakerdeity and all their writings! I've only interacted with them a couple times on a different blog but they're so kind and good at art too! Love and hearts always at them tbh <3
