Hello, Strangers! We hope you’ve been well leading up to this holiday week! It’s been a lot, and yet, #AudioDramaSunday arrives again! We’d like to make a post highlighting some pods we’ve been loving and some others we’ve been catching up on!
Up first, we have the incredible Call of the Void podcast! The team behind CotV was one of our first listeners, and our first review on Syntax! We so appreciate their support and have FINALLY been able to start their show. We’ve finished S1 and are so thrilled to keep going! Their skill at fading ambiences to slide to the next scene makes it a conducive show that lets you keep up! Some surprising thrills and chills in this show, as well!
Next, we’d like to highlight our friends at @ethicstownpod! They’re hard at work to crowdfund for their show, and we are SO excited for what we’ve been seeing so far! The crowdfunding is already halfway funded, and any cash you’d be able to toss their way would not be wasted! We at TSP cannot wait for the premiere!
Another thriller in the paranormal genre is @octoberschildrenpodcast. We are waiting on the tips of our TOES for their next episode! This show really knows how to highlight extremely natural character interaction mixed with impeccable sound work to really put you in the moment with the characters. We certainly have our favorites from the show (Xerxes, Conrad, and Renee are our choices 👀), but this cast is lovable and very scooby-doo esque. And yes, the rumors are true — there’s DEFINITELY something weird going on in Wolfbrook, New Hampshire!
And of course, our favorite psychological horror, @themooncrownpod! It’s an incredible example of sound work, and truly keeps you guessing with where the story will go. The twists and turns are completely unexpected but EXTREMELY welcome, and the creator does an excellent job of disorienting the listener (in the BEST way!) Though it’s a smaller cast, they have great chemistry, and keep us guessing as far as what their roles truly are in this show…. 👀
And because we haven’t highlighted them enough, our favorite comedy, @thespcpodcast! Their Halloween special was a hoot, and we’re still thinking of quotes from it! We’re extremely excited for more episodes of this monthly pod, and it brings a welcome reprieve of dry humor from the otherwise INTENSE ADs we force ourselves through. And yes, we feel for the main character as much as y’all do — it really is that miserable to be a call center agent, even without the paranormal aspects.
We hope you all have a wonderful holiday week for everyone in the US, and we thank you for (hopefully) giving these shows a shot! We promise they won’t disappoint. See you next time!
