Ocean Tides is a track from Kyson's new Blackstone EP release which will be out on Moodgadget Records on October 29th.
Kyson drops new EP on Moongadget
One of the numerous promising talents to pop up on the DopeSound radar over the past few weeks is Berlin-via-Sydney electronic musician Jian Kellett Liew, aka Kyson. Drawing influences from ambient, trip hop, jazz and early 90's hip hop, the trained audio engineer creates music best described as emotional electronica – a stirring blend of subtle downtempo beats, dreamy pads, washy vocals and warm reverb that is perfectly fitting for release on Warminal.
While we will probably see an EP from the Australian expat drop on Essáy's netlabel at some point in the not-so-distant future (given that one of his tracks is already featured on its Rough Vision compilation), Kyson recently put out his new 6-tracker Patience through US imprint Moongadget, home to names like Mux Mool and Shigeto. Following previous EP releases on rather low-profile labels like Etiketa and Mareld, his latest offering marks a major milestone on his path to wider recognition.
You can stream Patience in full, and download its opener You May Have Limited Time, below.
And if you like what you hear, go ahead and cop the EP on the iTunes store.
