Threatened by the existence of a self-replicating network of defense and surveillance probes, A small number of Alternian forces were deployed in the Tampixa system with the task of eliminating the matrix’s primary infrastructure. These 4 ships entered the system’s Oort cloud at strategic intervals by hiding behind its planets relative to the matrix’s primary vantage, allowing them the chance to lie dormant until an adequate window was available to attack the primary control facilities on Tampixa’s 4 moons. Despite the preparation, two ships failed within moments of their initial penetration. One was later sacrificed in an effort to compensate for the other two.

Miraculously, the fourth ship, “Titan”, was able to manuever through the probe matrix and irreparably disable the facilities on three separate moons before withdrawing to safety- allowing the primary fleet to launch a full-scale invasion.
