I had an idea for a whole essay on why Maomao is quicker to accept affection from Loulan/Shisui than from Jinshi and how that's a reflection of her being raised in the pleasure district by courtesans and thus viewing affection from women as a given and natural thing to receive and give but at the same time viewing affection between men and women as transactional and something men have to pay to get and women offer as a product but I prefer to just enjoy the doom yuri while it lasts instead

So the logical conclusion here is that either Olruggio will do mouth to mouth to save Qifrey at some point (idk why he wouldn't just use magic but maybe he can't?) or he'll show his love (a gift of sorts) by kissing Qifrey!! THEY'RE GOING TO KISS AND OLRUGGIO WILL INITIATE IT
If it's gonna be in the present or in a flashback to one of the times Olruggio discovered Qifrey's secret idk, but it'll happen!!!
Or it can mean something else entirely and I'm just sleep deprived and have spent far too long analysing this myth and its connection to orufrey for a post I'm cooking up
A few days ago I wrote a very long and very detailed analysis of jinmao's parallels with their respective parents and how in the beginning of the story they're repeating the same mistakes that lead to their parents being broken, miserable, resentful and lonely, but then idk if I closed the app without actually posting it or if it just bugged but it never got posted and I got too lazy to re-write it all so just know that it was a banger and I had borrowed the "fatal flaw" element from pjo to describe it
I heavily dislike the aroace Richeh headcanons and I think some people do it just because she's clearly autistic/autistic coded. People take her rigidity of thinking and her more calm/cold, retracted and monotone voice and immediately think "ah yes, she's clearly aroace" when she's actually the first one of the 4 girls to very clearly and canonically demonstrate interest in someone (Euini). Even Agott's crush comes/becomes obvious later on.
Also also actually actually, coco has demonstrated less interest in romance than Richeh so far but no one headcanons her as aroace-spec because she's bubbly and sociable and people have crushes on her left and right. (I don't think she's aspec btw, I just think she has other things to worry about, like her mom and the brimmed hats)

But it really pisses me off when people immediately equate someone being a little recluse or "cold" to being aroace. I'm closer in personality to Tetia than I am to Richeh (outside of the sleeping thing, I do love to sleep) but without fail it's always characters like Richeh that get slapped with the asexual and aromantic labels/headcanons. Even ignoring the canon information of her being interested in someone (they're compared to the scale wolves during mating season, if you say they're just platonic you have to say orufrey is also just platonic even tho they parallel that one love story).
Like be for real, what exactly makes her aroace? She doesn't demonstrate a lack of interest at all, she likes to eat meat and likes to sleep, yeah, but none of those are exclusive to aroace people. You can like food and a good nap and still feel attraction. I know we joke a lot in the ace community about how food is better than sex but allo people also like food? We kinda all need it to survive yk?
So aside from that, genuinely, what in Richeh gives people aroace vibes? If it's not her autistic traits or her love for food, what is it that she does or says that gives aroace? Or is it just the same autistic = asexual stereotype? The "autistic people are too pure and innocent and are incapable of feeling attraction 🥺" garbage infantilization?
Also disclaimer: I'm not saying she's gonna act on her attraction anytime soon, just like I can say Agott is not aroace because she clearly has a crush on Coco (same for Tartah) without implying that their relationship is inappropriate for their age. Richeh has a crush on Euini and he has a crush on her back, but it isn't sexual in nature because they're 11-12yo
Help! People really believe maomao's bs thought that Jinshi was only worried about her "virginity" on the chariot scene when he asks if someone assaulted her? 😭😭
How can people's media literacy be so poor they actually believe maomao's assumption was correct and not a comedic gag to show her emotional disconnect when it comes to how Jinshi feels about her???
Ships aside I'm so glad people are finally getting to see the amazing disability representation on this show and discussing about accomodations both in universe and in our society!! Yes get more political about this anime!!!!!
I know I shouldn't read the comments on my pirate manga reading sites but it got me so annoyed that people were quick to point out that that one guy had a crush on Agott because of what he was saying, quoting like "it's the I bully/envy you because I have a crush trope awww" but Agott thought those EXACT SAME WORDS about Coco and the comments were like "finally their friendship is starting" or "finally Agott is getting development but she's still a jealous brat"
