Moonlight’s Jin Under Fire For Cultural Appropriation?
While the start of the year is an exciting time for new comebacks, and debuts, it seems like a pretty well known group might "flop".
After winning a Siimpi for best rookie group. Redstrike Entertainment's Moonlight had announced to be coming back with their second mini album "Our Love Story".
Sparklers anticipated the comeback and got everything they hoped for from the latin title track that was "Love Is So" to the slow melody "Say No". Sadly, it was short lived excitement due to a debate of member Jin's hairstyle.
While harsh here's some of the gathered comments:
“Crazy b*tch”
“This is the group that somehow won the rookie award btw~”
“They’re trying to take over the western scene, yet thought this was a smart thing to try.”
”ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ there’s a reason why some kids can’t hit bigㅠ”
“If someone doesn't pull that rats nest off of Jin's head, so help me god-.”
“Don’t blame the stylists. Why would professionals do dumb things that could cost them their jobs? Idols are literally dumb*ss people who think just because they’re popular they can do what they want because their idiot fans will protect them.”
Sparklers have claimed their beloved Jin was just unaware that adopting a style pioneered by black American artists might be a hard sell for some listeners who are tuned into debates about cultural appropriation.
How do you feel?

[+1777, -548] This is so ridiculous! Redstrike is so controlling, I’m sure an angel like Jin would NEVER choose a hairstyle that is important to a whole culture and wear it like a temporary party favor
[+1579, -896] I don’t think this was out of malicious intent. While I do not like the hairstyle, as there is a bigger meaning to it then just for fun. The hate moonlight, as a whole, is receiving is just ridiculous...
[+1078, -453] The stylists have gone mad. Yes, this is the stylists fault. I mean they’re in charge of it all aren’t they?
[+887, -654] I’m just saying, most of the people complaining are probably not even black...
[+632, -756] It’s not that big of a deal, don’t overreact
[+487, -987] That one comment went off for no reason? Is it ever really that serious??
