They had no intention to stay in Magnolia for long. In fact they were leaving tonight. A hand rustled a single letter from their coat. The words that rested between its pages made it feel all the heavier. More passionate words not worth writing, let alone being read. They tossed the letter forward and with their magic shredded it to pieces. Small scraps fluttered about in the dark like midnight snow. Peering in between the falling pieces they spotted a figure standing on a short bridge, one that allowed ease to the other side of the canal.

Not wanting to alarm her, they approached with calm steps until they finally joined her. “You don’t plan on jumping do you?” Macbeth starred at the passing water, a mere ten feet below. “Although at this height you’ll only accomplish catching a cold.”
